Tears In Heaven

His arms were extended.

Clutching a sleek silver 45’.

The one he had carried for years.

His heart beat fast with tainted blood and adrenaline.

He didn't want to shoot.

It wouldn't kill the beast.

It was too strong, a bullet wouldn't phase it.

The beast formerly known as his brother beamed.

As if he was taunting him with blood soaked fingers.

His brother knew he was hopeless.

Beads of sweat gathered at the small of his back as he contemplated his next move.

Nothing would stop the beast.

Its dark onyx eyes starring into his.

It began walking towards him.

He dropped his gun, knowing it was useless.

Like Cain and Abel he would be killed by his brother.

It was his destiny.

He closed his eyes and waited for his fate.

But nothing happened.

Only a loud thump, like a hunk of lead falls on to the floor.

He opens his eyes, expecting to see his own dead body.

Instead only sees his brother lying face down on the ground,

as another man clothed in a trench coat and a cheap blue tie stands behind him.

A rare silver blade in hand.

The angel falls to his knees for he has killed his best friend.

The one man he ever cared for, died for and fell from heaven for was gone.

Tears stream down his face and on to the beast whom he killed.

The angel saved the mans life.

They look at each other, both with tears in their eyes and left the room.

It was over, their story was over.

And they never saw each other again.
