Our gallant attempt,

Gassed out so quickly:

A dale of mangled steel

To show for our efforts.

How did we think

We could engineer

What we had destroyed?

The protective bubble

Of persistent naivety

Can no longer hide

The pain and suffering.

No sketches or concepts

Can make up for

The nature we nurtured,

Our sense of reality

Is bent into the gearing of machinery.

But no field of finely crafted metal

Can stand for nature.
