I was extremely close to sleeping until twelve in the afternoon, or even later. Doubtlessly because I didn’t have school and I didn't want sit through the support group meeting I was being forced to go to. 

But indefinitely, do to mom's pushiness, I ended up showering and getting dressed. 

She drove me to a completely different clinic, but it looked exactly the same in appearence. Four white walls, plastic chairs, a glass door, and enormous windows. 

We all gathered inside a massive room. Which honestly, resembled a half-finished basement. All of us sat in mini a circle with the enthusiasm of insects. 

A man stood up once we all settled. “My name is John, I'm the group leader.” John was older; bold and round. “We’re going to start by going around the circle and introducing ourselves.”

Each one of us would introduce ourselves by: Name. Age. And why we were here. When it was my turn, I said: I'm Esther. I'm sixteen. And I'm suffering from depression. 

Following me was a boy named Will. He attempted suicide but his sister stopped him. He was seventeen with short black hair and freckles and bright pink lips. 

Once we went around the circle, John did more of his personal sharing. He told us of him trying to starve himself in order to win over a girl. 

The meeting was short and rather choppy. We indulged in small activities to get to no one another, activities that seemed to go on forever. We also ate cookies and drank soda. 

“Depression?” inquired Will from behind me. “Pretty typical.” 

I whipped around from staring down at the catering table. “Yeah, I'm pretty boring I guess.” 

We both made our ways outside and stood on the sidewalk together. “You don’t look like the kind of guy to try something like that.” I said to Will. 

“Everyone says that. You might know a person very well but you never know what’s going on in their head.” he answered. 

Right as the words left his mouth, mom pulled up to the curb. She rolled down the window. “Are you ready to go sweetie?” 

“Yeah.” I told her as I stepped into the car. She laid her foot on the gas pedal as I waved down Will. And as he waved back. 

“How was it? Was it fun?” she asked with more energy than usual. 

I turned to her while shrugging my shoulders. “I guess.”

I had closed my eyes for the night, and then suddenly, I woke up to the sound of my phone. Toby was on the other line, again. So I picked it up. 

Me: “What is with you and late night calls? Are you one of those hopeless romantics?”

Toby: “I have some more exciting new!” 

Me: “What?” 

Toby: “You know Great Expectations right?” 

Me: “The awful book that so happens to be your favorite book.” 

Toby: “My book group and I love it so much that we’re taking a trip to London, where it was based!” 

Me: “Toby! That’s great!” 

Toby: “We have everything ready, we have tickets and a list of places to go! It's going to be awesome!” 

Me: “Wow!”

Toby: “And I want you to come with us!” 

Me: “Toby!” 

Toby: “Come on troublemaker!” 

Me: “Okay, okay! I’ll think about it!”
