I watch you from the back of the coffee shop, listening intently for your melodic voice to say your usual order to the barista: "Regular coffee, black, 3 sugars please." I have often considered walking up to you, striking a conversation and falling for your wit, you smiling at how shy I must seem, just a constant in your background that you never seem to notice until I make my first move towards you. Sometimes I imagine you coming over to me, all confidence and brilliant smile, making me fall head over heels before you even say hello. The barista hands you your order, and you walk out of the store, leaving me pining behind. Sadly, I can never talk to you, for I am simply a lost spirit, left behind instead of going to the afterlife. But, I think, as long as I can watch you enjoying your life, being stuck around the living isn't so bad.
