In 1793, Yellow Fever decimated the U.S. population. Victims were quickly buried to prevent its spread - not all of them were dead. Some were buried with bells to ring in the case they awoke in their coffins, needing to be rescued. They often were, except for those unfortunate enough to be heard only by the gravedigger, Terrance Bellamy. Their salvation was never a guarantee.
