You Stole Me - Poem

You stole the wind from the tornadoes,

and I'm trying to keep my footing here,

but all I can know,

is your cold dial tones,

and the sound of the wind in my hair.

You stole the colors out of the rainbows,

and I tried to keep them in my skin,

but all I can do,

is wait for you,

to come with your paintbrush and fill me back in.

You stole the white tips from the snow in my hair,

and now shivering to keep myself warm,

but all I can see,

is fast and white flurries,

while you sit inside to wait out the storm.

You stole the breath out from my lungs,

and I'm choking from the inside out,

but I'm trying,

though I'm dying,

and you won't even give me an out.

You stole the secrets out from my veins,

and coaxed the scars to come undone,

you revealed me,

you unsealed me,

and then you left me completely unwrung.

Your took my loyalty so readily,

and then you chafed me to my core,

and I gave you my all,

and you towed me for thrall,

and you left once I could give you no more.
