Past the trees, the flags , the men it flew and hit right at the center of the target board. Ignacia swiftly loaded another arrow in her bow without a second glance. As she took aim, a soldier from the cavalry who was overseeing her training spoke, "A gracious shot, Princess, but practicing something that you have already mastered is futile. Wouldn't it be better if you were to practice shooting off the back of a horse? " "Why would I practice off the back of a horse when I'm not going to go into battle on a horse, Sir?". The sound of another arrow hitting the bull's eye followed at the end of her question. "You certainly won't be going into battle as infantry, right?" "No, since the moment I was born, sir, I was meant to fly". "You're certainly not talking .... about using Fiona... are you? I know she's your childhood friend but ... you can't use her for battle,Princess!". "And why would that be?" "Ughgh... forgive me Princess... I have spent ten years fighting for Mortfire... and I would have gladly fought another ten had my health permitted... Every battle fought on the battlefield has rules, my lady, and never has the use of a Dewbird been one of them". "Then we'll have to fight by our own rules, I guess", Ignacia replied dryly. The arrow missed it's bull's eye to hit the blue circle instead. "Errr... I don't think it... uhhh... works like that, my lady". The next whizzing sound made the cavalry man retreat a few steps for fear of his safety. The arrow had completely missed it's mark to hit the turf. "Let me get this straight. So, these Mountain savages raid my lands, kill my people, burn my crops and you want me to play by their rules? I will do everything and ANYTHING to kill every last one of them. I will send the message to not only the Dragon Kings but to every usurper hiding outside Mortfire that any attack on Mortfire is met by a retaliation greater than what all of them can handle combined. I will use Fiona. I will use every Dewbird in Mortfire, if need be. IS THAT CLEAR?". "Yyesss... uhhh... I wasn't questioning your ... I only meant... uhhh..". Ignacia fired an arrow in the sky, supposedly aimlessly. "Don't move from your place...I have been practicing on Fiona's back since I was five. I don't need to train on her". The arrow landed two centimetres from the cavalry man's feet. "Brilliant... that was a very ... good shot... Princess. " "What's your name, soldier?". "Charles, my lady". "Charles, tell the soldiers that if need be for us to support my father's army, we'll enter the battle on Dewbirds". "Yes, my lady".
