很多人想說「我二十歲」，會直接翻成：

✘ I have 20 years old.

這句英文是錯的。

英文裡說年齡，要用 be 動詞：

I am 20 years old.29Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡXYKxFKRNQB
我二十歲。

也可以簡短一點：

I am 20.29Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ4aW8f8ZAFa
我二十歲。

如果你想問別人幾歲，可以說：

How old are you?29Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡzqEECSgNwz
你幾歲？

不要說：

✘ How many years do you have?

這不是英文裡自然的問法。

如果想說「我哥哥三十歲」，可以說：

My older brother is 30 years old.29Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡaYx7dRZFsX
我哥哥三十歲。

或者：

My older brother is 30.29Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡCPANgq7WlA
我哥哥三十歲。

如果是小朋友，也常會聽到：

My son is five.29Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡOuwigAyIRC
我兒子五歲。

She is six years old.29Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡk6MCSEaSXN
她六歲。

英文裡，年齡不是你「擁有」的東西，而是你「是」幾歲。所以不是 I have 20 years old，而是 I am 20 years old。歲月已經夠無情了，文法就不要再補一刀。
