Light rushed to her petite friend like one of the Three Little Pigs. Terrified. “Light? Are you oka—“ “NO I AM NOT HELP ME PLEASE.” The latter nodded, gently tugging on the girl’s shoulder and moving them to a more secluded place. Hearing her bestfriend in a panic was okay but hearing her beg for help? Ha, that sounded comical almost.
“Okay, breathe. Tell me what happened.” “Navine…he–I–I don’t know!” A slight wash of amusement bubbled across Dark’s face as her mood threatened to smile and somewhat mock her friend with: ‘I told you so’s ‘ “Dark it’s not funny!! I swear to the Lord Almighty he’s not normal!” “Okay I’m sorry, what happened?” Light took a deep breath before recounting her steps. “It was…weird. Like really weird since none of us know Navine that well. I was just messing around with Laito and the others…” she trailed off unintentionally, uncomfort seeping through her adrenaline shot veins.
“And…?” The younger probed gently, “And…he stared. He stared and stared. I have no idea why, I didn’t even talk to him! He just…stared. Then after class I was packing when he passed by me. But he stopped behind me. Watching. I wanted to ignore him but then he just said: ‘What was that about?’ And walked out.” Her childhood friend’s eyes widened at the end of the story, processing what she had heard and turning it into a bubble test.
“Maybe he spaced out? I don’t think he was looking at you, maybe it was unintentional.” She countered, trying to knock sense into this scene. “No, so many times, and when I moved his eyes did too.” Huh. “What was the tone of his voice? Harsh or calm?” “Neither, it was more…controlled…? I guess you can put it that way.” Dark nodded and stood up again, “We should keep an eye out, never know what we might fin—“ “Dark, where were you?” Kanato.
“Kana-san?” Hands cupped around her mouth, Dark called out to her brother-from-another-mother (ayee) “Ah, Dark. Aren’t you coming to eat?” He asked, watching intently for a reaction. “Oh, I forgot I didn’t eat yet…” she laughed sheepishly. “We’ll join you guys later,” she glanced at Light for a millisecond, “Light forgot to bring food so we need to buy.”

-Dark’s P.O.V-
I nibbled on my sandwich, slowly eating as I watched the others play tag. I’m not athletic at all so I don’t usually play these games. Most of the time when Lai and Kana-san do, I sneak off somewhere to sketch and read. I had an urge to do so today, but thing is, they weren’t actually joining in. The canteen was packed with students like sardines in a tin so we decided to eat outside under the tree. A great oak.
”Laiii?” I whined slightly, my sweetheart redirected his attention to me, “Yeah?” “I wanna go to the auditorium today…” I pouted, he wasn’t playing since he pulled his calf yesterday. “But I’m not playing?” He sounds…sad. I mentally slapped myself twice for that super obvious deduction. “I’ll be back after a while okay?” Reluctantly, he nodded, shooing me off.

As I walked to the Auditorium, my gaze focused on the ground below me. “OW!” I stumbled back as I walked into someone, the hall was peaceful, all but my boom box of a voice still. My eyes re-focused on the person I ran into.
KS Hashimoto.
I groaned inwardly, it just had to be him. Didn’t it? He’s not irritating or anything but he’s a bully. Not one of those money stealers but he always down graded others. I hate that. I didn’t even bother to slip an apology before sprinting forwards. Just then, a pair of hands grabbed my shoulders, forcefully shoving me around.
“Oi. Stupid. Aren’t you gonna say you’re sorry?” I ignored him at first, but an unsettling feeling swirled in my stomach when he shouted,–“ANSWER ME. YOU STUPID CREATURE.”–someone was watching us. “No.” That’s all I’m gonna say to him. “Apologise.” He demanded, but I was deaf to him only.
“Or what.” I countered, pulling away from the death–but sweaty, ew–grip he had on my shoulders. “Or are you just going to go crying to your boyfriends?” I squinted at him, a challenging fire threatening to char him, “Who?” “Kanato and Laito.” He stared proudly. How idiosyncratic.
”Boy-space-friend? Yes. But I am not gonna run to them because of you.” I scoffed, swiftly walking away to the auditiorium. To my surprise, Kana-san was there. Maybe he came the other way. But why is he here? “Kana-san?” I whispered, it was only him and me here but I didn’t want to scare him.
“Dark!” He grinned, but I could see the slight worry behind that faltering smile, “Are you okay??” Huh? How’d he—‘someone was watching us.’ I froze. It was like counting to ten in hide and seek. My eyes were closed, counting thoughts but when I opened them I saw him right in front of me.
“Dark…” His voice was smooth, sweet but steady. “Don’t tie.” He coaxed softly, sliding off the hair tie I had on. Wait…I was saying something wasn’t I? What was it abo—“D-Dark.” I heard a second voice pant from the door, Laito. “Kanato texted me, are you okay? Are you hurt?” I shook my head, causing him to smile solemnly.
They really did care.
”You guys are gonna stay here?” I asked and they nodded. Long story short, I sketched for 5 minutes before falling asleep on my boyfriend’s shoulder and my brother singing quietly. I felt a hand wrap around my shoulders before sleeping though, and a soft whisper…
”…ours.”
