       「那時，我們的部隊遇上了共匪，他們嘩地從草叢中衝出好幾千人，我趕忙叫身後的同袍將機槍架好，一回頭，哪還有甚麼同袍？剛剛站的窪地只剩下零碎的肢體，與殘敗的鐵屑......」

         孩子們各個睜大眼睛，「然後呢？」他們迫不及待的問著眼前這位傳奇爺爺。「先回家吃飯去，接下來留著晚點兒說。」老人啜了一口茶，慢條斯理的說。孩子們雖意猶未盡的抱怨著，但也乖乖遵守與老人的約定。邊跑遠，邊笑鬧著模仿戰鬥機俯衝掃射的聲音，「咻，答答答答」。

在眷村長大的孩子是幸福的，無盡的故事滿足著小小腦袋的各種想像。

在眷村長大的孩子是不幸的，他們比同年齡的小孩接觸了更多的殘酷。

        接近一世紀前的戰爭故事，英雄們大多已入土為安。

        願英靈永存，護我疆土。英魂永續，衛我家園。
