When the sun rose the next morning, I was lying on my bed, eyelids drooping, unable to sleep. I vaguely remember my Dad arriving to pick me up at 11:00 last night, only to be shocked and confused at the going ons. Did he hear that I was hanging around backstage? I didn't know.480Please respect copyright.PENANAlYxCJeJ4Kr

The sunlight crept in slowly through the thick brown curtains. It hurt my eyes to look at it. The voice kept muttering in my ear - some stupid stuff about me being the only person who would do it. I wished it would stop. Or at least...If I were hearing people's thoughts at least let me hear something useful. Why didn't I have more control over my power? Why couldn't I make out who was thinking what? That would have been dead useful. The only thing I knew was that when the person whose thoughts I was hearing was nearby the voice was loud and clear. But what use was that? I mean...Take Nancy for example. Just because she was rejoicing in Jolly's death didn't mean she was the murderer.480Please respect copyright.PENANAi8vTItWArO

Maybe if I concentrated enough I could hear more...No...I remembered my headache and my descent into the darkness. If only I could make sense of this...480Please respect copyright.PENANASb3KVcWtkN

Suddenly the phone rang. I heard my mother speaking in a low voice. I heard her gasp and say something like, "Oh, no!"480Please respect copyright.PENANArVJB3SjCPC
What could it be? I wondered as I sat up in bed. The voice laughed. Laughed and laughed. A shiver ran down my spine.480Please respect copyright.PENANAzqL45o6Oax
