The hero steps through the red double doors, his sandy blond hair that's parted down the middle falling into his face a bit, almost in the way of his bright green eye that shine with a fierce light, his eyebrows drawn together in a serious manner. The strange magenta glow coming from behind a huge black throne gives the whole room a strange look, like something out of a dream, and as the hero approaches the throne, a strange looking man rises up; the Grey King.
His body hidden underneath his dark clothes looks thin, and he's tall, a least a foot taller than himself. But the part that stands out the most is his face. His grey skin is a gross, boring shade of light grey, his eyes violet and yet dull, and his hair was an off white, spiked up and slicked back at the top, and at least shoulder length in the back.
His cheek bones are very prominent, his eyes confident and yet empty, and then his lips curled into a smirk. The hero stood up straighter, lifting his sword slightly, gripping the solid black hilt uncomfortably tight, feeling himself starting to sweat already either out of stress or from the journey to the throne room. Getting past the freaks in the hall had been horrible, the images and illusions screwing with his head.
But now...now he would put this all to an end. He stepped forward, jutting his jaw out and glaring up at the Grey King.
"Mm," The Grey King hummed then, the ugly smirk on his face growing into a grin, "A visitor. To what do I owe the pleasure?"
"Don't play dumb." The hero snarled, gritting his teeth.
The Grey King stepped forward, stepping down from his throne and coming up to stand just inches from the hero. "Where are your manners, Jacque?"
Taken aback, Jacque stared at him as the taller man leaned forward, grinning so much that Jacque could see his white teeth showing behind black lips. His stomach churned as he took a step back, swallowing uncomfortably, this monster, this murder...how could this creature of death be so calm? So at ease? Like this was normal to him?
Because it was normal to him, Jacque reminded himself. This monster was no longer his friend. This was something else, something disgusting and evil and cruel and sick.
He bought his sword up as the Grey King came closer. "My manners left with your heart!" He yelled, fighting back his rising nausea.
"Ah, don't be so mean. You act as if you hate me." The Grey King mumbles softly, sounding mock-confused. Jacque glared at him, his body shaking with rage.
How dare this monster play around and act like this was something trivial?!
"I do hate you." He spat, the venom in his words strong and he felt braver as he lashed out at this man-like monster. He stood slightly straighter, tilting his sword as if daring the ugly creature to step forward.
"Oh," The Grey King paused, frowning, his eyes amused, "Is this possibly about how...how I murdered your family?"
The wicked smirk came back then, more revolting than the last time, and Jacque just wanted to run him through. Instead he started slowly stepping around the ugly King, facing him with his sword pointed outward as he slowly circled him. "You're sick!" He yelled out, his voice echoing off the high ceiling.
The Grey King mimicked him then, walking around the other way, but keeping his violet eyes on him. "And you're boring." He drawled, his voice low.
They stepped around each other for the next few seconds, silence filling the air, and that was when Jacque decided to move. He lurched forward, aiming to run through the Grey King just as he'd dreamed of doing for nearly a year now, but the monster was suddenly not there, leaving Jacque unbalanced, he falls forward slightly before straightening up. Then, just as he was about to turn around, the Grey King was behind him, snaking an arm over Jacque's waist, "Hm, when you close your eyes," he paused, leaning to whisper in his ear, "You can still hear them, screaming, can't you?"
At the mere mention of his family, of his friends that he'd lost, Jacque has to stop himself from vomiting right there. He swallows, gagging, before quickly spinning out of the sick embrace, letting his sword spin out as he did. When he'd turned full-spin he was happy to see blood dripping from ripped places in the black robes, the Grey King simply glancing down at the injuries. "I must have struck a nerve."
Jacque grits his teeth, running forward and moving to stab him. This time when the man moves it's not so bad that he falls, so he turns around, just to get kicked in the stomach. He falls on his back, his sword clattering to the beautiful marble flooring. He moves to get back up just as the Grey King stands over him, suddenly pressing his foot into Jacque's shoulder. "Don't try to leave just yet, Jacque. Could I get you something? Tea, or maybe just some water?"
Pushing his annoyance aside, he reaches over for his sword, watching in horror as his arm is suddenly stabbed by a long, sleek white sword. He grits his teeth at the pain, holding back his need to scream. That when the Grey King smiles again, pulling the sword back out and staring at Jacque's arm.
Only a second passes before tiny little black, disgusting round things start crawling to his arm, and Jacque tries to move, feeling his stomach churn as the tiny things crawled onto his arm. They completely covered his arm, the bleeding injury completely hidden, and suddenly it feels as if Jacque's arm is burning. He glanced over to see there was clearly no fire, before glancing up at Grey, wincing at the pain.
"Need a little help? Looks painful." The Grey King commented softly, but his wicked smile and crazed eyes were not as sympathetic.
Even so, Jacque couldn't help himself as the pain in his arm started to feel sickening, "H-help...please..." his sentence is cut off as he gasps in pain, glancing at his arm in shock. Minutes slowly pass, and it feels like he's been laying there on that marble floor forever, his arm in ridiculous pain, and he watches as the tiny blacks dots run and scatter off in different directions, his bloody arm severed from his body. "You're so pathetic...you know that?" The Grey King murmured.
Jacque gritted his teeth, staring at the Grey King. And then he pushed up with all his body strength and reached for his sword simultaneously, grabbing it as he was just in reach with his good arm, and then he swung back into his position on the floor just as the Grey King moved to stop him from getting away, leaning over him more.
They stared at each other, Jacque's sword impaling the Grey King's stomach, the Grey King's magic sword impaling Jacque's chest.
"Oh, you won't live from this." The Grey King said, "But I will."
"G-Grey-" Jacque tried to say, but he couldn't, and the Grey King frowned.
"Jacque." He said, his voice soft, as if saying goodbye.
