Meredith is the only person in her family and in Rosewood Academy of the Magical and Mystical whose powers did not manifest like everybody else.The day after her 16th birthday,her parents are murdered and her brothers and sisters are kidnapped.Overwhelmed by the tragedy,her powers start to show but are still weak.

She trains secretly with the headmistress of the academy and discovers she has more than just one element like everybody else.Meredith finds out about the murderers,who they are, and more and more about her powers.But the more she knows,the more she puts her friends,the academy, and everyone she loves in danger.

This story puts Meredith in a world where she has to make hard decisions even if it means leaving behind her friends.Meredith is being pitted against her own heart on every single choice she makes.
