「古有一業，志在消弭人心之孽，心孽之造作即為惡咒，身懷諸祕法絕學之人，擁才自重者眾、劍走偏鋒，惟念咒法之橫行，以真知善根把持者寡，有德有才之士，以法制法、以咒解咒，以心之罪，裁心之孽，古典有載，志此業者，即祓咒師。」


——在古代有一門行業，他們的工作內容是消除人心所造的孽，這些孽障的具體呈現就是惡咒、詛咒；之所以會有這些為惡的咒師，實在是因為擁有天賦與才能，精通咒術與祕法的人，大多數容易自視甚高，然後走上極端的道路，使得這些詛咒的惡行橫行，真正能把持自我的人很少；為了抵制這樣的惡行，有才能又有道德的咒師，藉著自身對於咒術的理解與應用，去反制或解除這些惡咒，並且為這些作孽的人定罪，這樣的人，就稱之為祓咒師。
