"So you just moved to Richmond? Weird, so did we! I mean, it's not our first time here but that's irrelevant! "
Mino thought it was a good idea to take in the sights of my new 'Territory ', which meant an area in which a summoner 'patrols' for danger and takes on missions in an area. Apparently most summoners had 2-4 Territories, Continental, National, Provincial, and Local, but only are identified by the smallest. For example, my full territory was North America, United States, Virginia, Richmond, but I'm categorized as a Territory Richmond summoner. It's confusing, but it works. Then there's International Summoners, which travel across the globe for missions. It's confusing, but I guess it has some threads of sense. There's one thing I know for certain , and it's that everything in this 'Summoner Society ' is always complicated.
"Yeah, I originally came here for school... my father's business just happened to move here to, so it's impossible luck becoming possible, I guess." I muttered, but it seemed to me that it was an irrelevant question , as the answer flew over Mino's head as she begun to sing.
"Skippi-dee dooooo da! Skippi-dee day! My oh my what a wonderful day! Plenty of sunshiiiiiiine all of the way, Skippi-dee dooOOOoo da! Skippi-dee day!"
The weather was fairly nice out, the warm late August air stirring the trees in the city made it a peaceful atmosphere, if that were the only thing there. The wind and trees were only part if the bustling city of Richmond , with shops and restaurants lining the pedestrian -filled streets. This city was anything but peaceful.
"INCOMING!"
Looking up, I saw Allister, dressed as some sort of rouge, coming from the rooftop above straight at my face. While ducking, I saw three- no four- other people come down from the same roof and over me.
"DUCK DUCK GOOSE MOTHERFUCKERS!"
When I came up from my ducked position, a group of 2 summoners and 2 characters had landed behind me. One of them looked like a younger version of me, with the same long dark brown hair and black glasses. But with the leather jacket, band shirt, and tattered jeans, it was like my 13 year old self went through an emo phase. The characters consisted of a mix between Chrom from Fire Emblem Awakening and an assassin, a la Assassin's Creed, and one that looked like a circus ringmaster ...with khakis. This wasn't Jake from State Farm, I don't know who it was.
"That was fucking legendary, Allister ! That guy had no idea what was coming when WHAM! Did you really have to transform, though? He was a pest, save the fancy shit for the important shit." The girl said, all pumped up.
"I thought it was perfectly necessary. " Said the Chrom assassin character, shrugging.
"Too flashy, to be honest. " The female said, snapping her fingers as the Circus Ringmaster from State Farm disappeared. "Like, 12 people were watching us, minimum. I think someone called the cops, Ha! Isn't that a funny thing to think about?"
"Stay away from these guys..." Sasha whispered into my ear, "Axell is bad news, and when Allister is with her, it's worse."
"Say my full name when you talk shit, dumb ass!" The one Sasha called 'Colt' said, putting her hands on her hips. "I'm Axell Colt, Grade C, only 'cause I was demoted for doing some pretty dumb shit. Who's the rookie? "
"The name's Scarlet Evans, Grade E..." I said, trailing off after the second part, only to find myself surprised when Axell burst out laughing.
"You're the one who's supposed to beat Meichi, right? Pfft, good luck with that, you'll be lucky to find her, let alone fight her and come out of it alive! You are toast!" She said, a taunting smirk on her face.
I grumbled, not exactly appreciating her words of 'encouragement ' . I bit my lip slightly before saying "Thanks for the encouragement , I'll kick her ass just in spite!"
"Whooaaa, getting cocky, eh?" Allister said, scoffing while crossing his arms. "I'll have ya know that-"
Axell cut the Monosummoner off. "Meichi used to be the Richmond Top Summoner, in the line to succeed Samuel up in Alaska. " I had the feeling that Allister was planning to say something far different, seeing the quick glare Axell gave him. What that was? Beats me, but it sure piqued my curiosity. Not like I was going to get my curiosity sated anytime soon, but it was indeed still there.
Allister rolled his eyes, sighing. "Good luck beating that, newbie." He said, scoffing slightly again.
"Now, little James." Axell said, tugging on Allister's shirt. "We need to confirm the mission, and get the reward. C'mon, brat," With that, they were gone.
"I hate their guts I swear..." Sasha said, crossing her arms and sneering. "There is something really off with them."
"I could tell.." I said, sighing. Axell was a mysterious character, vulgar if nothing else, and I have become more suspicious of Allister after seeing that. Something was certainly wrong here.

Sasha looked over at me, in a way that said 'Are you hungry too? Because I am.' and I had to admit, I was a tad hungry. So we did we go to catch a bite to eat? Not a local restaurant with a view of the river, naw, that'd be to nice, and expensive. So instead, McDonald's. The cheapest edible heart attack joint on earth. Allister and Axell walked out, leaving their pay on the table. I could barely breathe. There was something up with them, and it involved Meichi. Anything involving Meichi was a reicpie for disaster. "Should we follow them?" I whispered to Sasha.
"Axell has crazy acute senses, she'll know that's we're tailing them. Best to wait and see." Sasha said, looking around, now slightly on edge.
In my humble opinion that was crazy talk that could get people killed, but I could only figure that Sasha was right.
