Late that night there was a knock at the door
It was the one thing to get me up off the floor
I opened the door and saw a little girl there

I had never seen her around before
I could see she was hungry, so I took her to a store
When we returned, I got her to bed

I went downstairs and saw something that tore my heart
The little girl was gone and she wrote a little note
As I read what she had written a lump caught in my throat
It said she had to go because she was out of time to roam
She promised that one day we would meet again at her home.
She let me know that she was a very special angel
