香港地人煙稠密，地少人多，正是人浮於事，搵工及工種都大不如前。生活雖然辛苦，但仍然要開飯，私樓遙不可及，爭相申請公屋變了大眾的渴求。引申無良業主將單位改裝，變成了今天的劏房。
故事圍繞旺角某一處的五層高樓宇，四及五樓全部劏房，人與人之間的人性，故事因此而起。
