I was walking through the Grinka mountains. They have a calming aura. The smell of lavender and pine will surround you, and the beautiful spring weather wraps you in a blanket of comforting warmth. The soft grass tickled my bare feet and the wind blew gently, slightly raising my dress and ruffling the white feather's on my wings. I looked up at the clear blue sky which often housed tiny clouds, clouds would peek at you from around the tall pines and rich-scented lavender trees. I smiled as I saw one of the clouds that was shaped like a precious bird.

But almost as soon as I smiled, the cloud flapped away into nothing. Even the clouds don't like me, I sigh heavily and wave my hand left to right to bring up basic things such as time and maps. Gold sparks trail behind my hand, and bond together, giving me a clear projection of all my different options. All the different tabs glowed in my face: Time, Map, Weather, Friends, Games. I tap the Time tab and the numbers 9:45 flashed in front of me.

I'd better get to school, I thought sadly as I pushed a lock of my blue hair out of my face. I spread my wings, which are about twice my size, and slowly lifted myself off the mountain. My wings carried me through the sky and into the small town of Lavina. As I land in front of the school, I notice that plenty of other angels are giving me looks. Some laugh and other point at me but I ignore them and wave my hand in front of me again to view the tabs again.

Golden sparkles mark the trail of my hand and form a projection. I scroll through the options until I find clothing. It opens and I scroll down to shoes, after I find my favorite white flats, I touch them and in just a matter of seconds the projection closes and creates my flats. I slip into them and look at the wretched school once more before entering.

The school is shaped as a castle with pixie glass windows and walls made from the finest of all marble. Engraved above the steel door the words Archangel Academy glistens in the light, casting yellow light onto the walls.

I sigh once again, knowing that I'll be a great archangel like Michael or Alina. In the entrance of the school sits an identification pad. As humans have fingerprints to tell each other different, we have wing patterns because not a single set of wings has the same feather layout as another. As I extend my wings and fold them in front of me, I take small steps forward until I can feel the cold scanner pad against my wings. After a few seconds I hear a loud ding and it announces "Mirai Rose, identified." The doors open slowly, allowing me access.

I step inside and walk to my first class when I'm tackled to the ground by my three friends Aaliyah, Nichole, and Maxine. "Rai," they all scream in unison.

I chuckle softly and muster a small "Hi." We all try to get up but Max's wings are tangled with mine, and Aaliyah accidentally slapped Nichole with her wings so Nichole is still on the ground. Max trys to untangle our feathers but only some came undone.

He sighed and looked at me. When I sent a soft smile in his direction, he seemed to blush and look away. He held his hand over the feathers that refused to untangle and burned them, making them fall off and turn into ash.

I'll admit that it stung a little, but it's only a couple feathers. Nichole managed to get up off of the floor, and she walked towards the feather's ashes. She made a spiraled motion with her hand above the ashes, and they turned into a small, beautiful lily. I wiggled my fingers above the flower and tiny water droplets slid off my fingers and onto the lily while Aaliyah examined our wings and used her body manipulation magic to grow back the feathers we'd lost. I nodded at all of my friends and smiled, "Perfect team, right?" They all laughed a yes and we went on our way to our first class, History.

We were all walking side-by-side and randomly started talking about who our dream lover would be. "Are we talking about in the school or just anyone?" I asked. "How about both," replied Nichole. "For the school, mine would be that senior Anhel," said Aaliyah as she swooned slightly. The rest of us rolled our eyes and laugh at her. "Anhel? He is totally out of your poor little sophomore league," Max was still laughing as he told her this. Aaliyah gasped dramatically and hit him, "Totally cruel," she exclaimed. "He is so in my league!" "For my school love, it would have to be Anhel's younger brother, Jaylin." Nichole exclaimed giddil. We all nodded. "He's a sophomore like us so he's definitely in my league." Nichole stuck out her tongue childishly at Liyah.

"Mine would be Niya", Max said. Us girls could do nothing but stop walking. "Niya?!" We all screamed in utter disbelief and shock. "Shh!" Max hushed us and nudged us forward, meaning that he wanted us to continue walking.

"Niya is pretty and all, but she's still the follower of the snobbiest girl in this whole school," I wrinkled my nose in disgust. "Niya isn't that bad, I've talked to her before," Max tried to explain. "She is right, Niya follows Alena. She's practically her servant." Nichole said to Max with a matter-of-fact attitude.

"I didn't bad mouth all of your likes, so why are you bad mouthing mine?" Max questioned us sadly.

"So! On to Rai, who's your school crush?" Liyah asked as she elbowed my side. "Ow!" I exclaimed as I rubbed at the spot where her elbow hit me. "Um. . . well, I guess that I don't really have a crush on anyone in the school," I said, still rubbing my side. "Lies! There has to be someone you like at least a little bit!" Nichole exclaimed. "Umm... I guess I like Nyxl", I whispered, slightly embarrassed. "What's that? We didn't hear you", said Maxine. "I said I like Nyxl..." "I don't think I know who that is," Liyah said and I sighed.

"You'll see him in a matter of seconds, he's a junior and also a good friend of Jaylin." "He's in our history class and I don't know him?" Aaliyah questioned as we neared the door. "Shh!" I hushed as we walked in and took our seats. I was literally in the middle of the class with Max was to my right, being closer to the other sophomores and a few freshmen. Nichole was sitting right behind me and Aaliyah was to my left, her being closer to the juniors and the seniors. I checked the time and saw that we still had a minute left before class starts. I decided to use that minute to message Aaliyah. I brought up the keyboard and started typing.

Her messenger popped up and she read it then I saw her looking then her mouth dropped. She immediately started typing.

We all closed our messenger and summoned our books. I look up and I see our psychotic teacher looking at us. "You should have had your books out before the bell rings," Ms. Tingla stared at us expectantly. We all muttered a sarcastic sorry and she started her lesson. "Today we're reviewing what you may not remember from the beginning of the year. This information must be branded into your mind or else you will be completely clueless next year." Tingla wrote 'Angels' on the board. "Now, what are angels?" She asked while scanning the classroom. Her eyes landed on Nyxl. "Mr. Leenus, care to explain what we are?"

Nyxl opened his mouth to answer when Anhel cut him off. "We are super beings that rule the Earth!" He laughed.

"Hush, you twit!" Tingla snapped before turning back towards Nyxl.

"What I was trying to say, was that angels are advanced beings who help humans and help keep Earth stable", he answered politely. "Thank you. We do indeed help humans and keep Earth from dying but how are we similar to those we protect?" She looked at me then smiled. "Ms. Rose?"

I sighed and reluctantly answered, "We are similar to humans because of our body structure and genetic make up. The only things that make us different from humans would be our inability to physically age after we turn twenty, our inhuman abilities such as magic, and then flying with our wings. Wings that humans lack, yet continue to try and mimic the similar sensations that we receive from flying." I heard Anhel and his group chuckle and whisper nerd. Max, Liyah, and Nikky looked at me like I'd grown 3 heads and I had a Tingla beaming at me.

"Very good, Ms. Rose! I see you were one of the few that bothered to learn anything at the beginning of the year!" Ms. Tingla chirped happily.

"Now about the virtues of-" I tuned her out. I start to slowly drift off into a peaceful sleep when I hear a deep and powerful voice in my head. Wake up. I ignore the voice and continue drifting until I heard I again. Wake up. My eyes flutter open and I see a blurry image of a man. I slowly shut my eyes again when I feel a cold breeze blow up my dress. "Holy Angel!" My eyes shoot open as I scream while yanking my dress down. "Who in Michael's name thought that would be-" I glared at the blurry image of the same man until I recognized who it was. It was the great Michael Lineaus himself. I'm surprised I didn't recognize his powerful aura as soon as he walked in.

I examine his lean form. He had to be around 6'7. He was wearing the Archangel's robes. It was pure white silk with gold sewn in to it to make swirly patterns. The robe was lined with the finest, white griffin fur in all of Heaven. The buttons that held the robe together were diamonds that had a blue 'M' on every one. His skin was the creamiest of cream and lines defined his muscular stature. Finally, I got to his face. His face was cleanly shaven and his eyes. Oh, his eyes were a clear, crystal blue with an ocean blue lining his irises. His black Fabio hair framed his face perfectly, completing the strongest angel in Heaven. Realization that I was checking out Michael had clicked and I quickly bowed my head while blushing profusely at the embarrassment, "I'm so sorry!"

He nodded his head and looked at Ms. Tingla who looked absolutely horrified. "This is the lowest ranked one?", his voice echoed throughout the classroom. She nodded slightly, "Yes, sir" "Come with me", he ordered and flew out the classroom. His powerful wings left everything disturbed. I slowly got up and walked out the classroom, but not before spotting the horror on my friend's faces.

I start slowly walking down the hallways, trailing the mess Michael had made when I once again heard his commanding voice in my head. Fly. I spread my wings and quickly take off down the hallways. I reach where he was in no time but it wasn't a place I was fond of, the training field. I slowly land next to him and fold my wings close to me so I don't hit him. "Why are we out here?" I inquired. "I'm going to train you over the next 3 weeks. You will no longer be the weakest angel. I won't tolerate it." He replied, his voice booming as always. "What do you want me to do first?", I asked. "We're testing you magic ability first." Before I could ask when we were going to start he launched a huge blast of wind at me, knocking me off my feet and onto my back.

"Oww.." I groaned in pain when he shook his head. "Always be ready for battle." He scolded while letting me get back on my feet. As soon as I stabled myself he sent another blast of wind, but this I was prepared for. I rose my hands and made a wall of water. I froze the water to make an ice wall and waved my hand in front of me to make it into a mirror. The wind went into my mirror and my mirror sent it back at him but with ice shards in it. He neutralized it with another air blast but mixed it with flames. He nodded, slightly pleased before making vicious tornado. I saw him smirk when he saw the terror on my face.

I scanned the tornado, seeing the amount of magic used, what type of magic was used and the damage it would cause. I quickly made an identical hurricane that had an ice serpent slither out of it and head towards Michael. He couldn't see pass the tornado and the hurricane so when my serpent attacked, it made the him collapse to the ground and the serpent had the chance to coil its body around Michael and squeeze. The scales of the serpent were ice shards and they cut up the angel. The tornado and hurricane cancelled out so water droplets were falling on us as I ran to Michael. "Are you okay?", I asked mortified.

He stood up and healed some of the cuts. The rest were closing on their own. I was expecting a fury but instead he smiled and laughed. Brilliant white teeth were shown and a husky laugh erupted. "You're laughing?" I asked confused. He patted me softly on the back and continued smiling. "I think they graded you wrong on the magical ability portion. I haven't had a student put up that good of a fight in a long time." I beamed at his compliment. "Let's see what else they may have graded you wrong on", He put his hand on my back and lead me to the track. With the wave of his hand the flat track had hills. He looked at my dress and slightly frowned. "You aren't dressed for running", he said removing his hand from my back. I waved my hand and brought up my clothing options.

I scrolled through until I found a white tank top, black shorts, and some black tennis shoes. I tapped on them and the gold covered my dress and formed them into the clothes I had chosen. Michael smiled once again, "Get to running. We're testing stamina. Run until you can't anymore." He ordered. I started running around the track. I'm not used to the hills but none-the-less I kept going. I think I ran about 263 laps around the mile long track before I finally collapsed in the middle of number 264. He flew over to me and picked up my limp body bridal style then flew me to some shade. I was still conscious but I couldn't move one muscle in my body. Also the world was swirling in a circle.

He slowly trailed his fingers up my legs, the cold tingles of his healing magic relieved my sore muscles. He then lifted my tank top to reveal my stomach and healed there. He finally closed my eyes with his hands and soon I felt the same cold, tingly sensation throughout my face and mind. I heard his deep voice again but this time it was soft and kind. Go to sleep, that's all until you fully heal. I decided to listen to him this time and I let the darkness pull me to sleep.

I wake up and slowly open my eyes. The bright lights blind me for a second before my eyes adjust. I look to see I'm in the infirmary. The smell of hand sanitizer and medicine burn a hole in my nose and the sound of a pulse monitor beeps loudly in my ear. I see I'm attached to some tube and I quickly yank them out. I hear the pulse monitor let out a long beep, thinking I'm dead so nurses flood my room but frown when they see all I did was take it out of me. They soon leave after seeing me. I sigh and get up from the uncomfortable hospital bed. The hospital gown revealed almost my entire body. I quickly change my clothes to some black skinny jeans, a sleeveless, white crop top with black rose lace and some black, rounded-toed pumps.

I start walking out of the room when Max, Nikky, and Liyah walk up to me, sighing in relief. Max hugged me gently and let Liyah hug me next. Unlike Max, she squeezed the living heaven out of me, acting like she didn't just see me walk out of a hospital room. "Ow!!", I whine as she squeezes me then lets me go. She looked at me and smirked. "Next time you do something so stupid it will be worse." "What did I do?", I asked. "You're still supposed to be in a hospital bed, not looking like you just came from a fashion show", she scolded.

Nichole examined my outfit and smiled, "At least she decided to look pretty instead of sticking to that lame white dress she always wears." She then walked up to me and hugged me gently. "That was a backward compliment but thank you", I say as I hug back. We started walking out the hospital when we passed through waiting room. Michael was in there and as soon as he saw me, his eyes slightly widened but then softened. He got up and strode over to us. I could practically feel the fear but anger rolling off of my friends. "You tried to kill her", Aaliyah snarled and blocked his way. Nichol also got in the way, "You think you're all high and mighty that you think you can go bully any student you feel like?"

Michael sighed, "I do apologize for pushing her farther than I should have. I was only testing her limits so I can plan a way to help her improve. I had only good intentions." Aaliyah and Nichole practically died laughing after hearing that. "Sure Mr. Macho Man but you're not getting anywhere near her", said Nichole. Max was the smart one to stay back and not interfere but I however, do not have that kind of restraint. "Guys, he healed me after, if it wasn't for that I may not have woken up", I got in the middle of my friends and Michael. "You were out for 10 hours Mirai! He obviously didn't heal you too much!", Aaliyah pointed a harsh finger at the clock on the wall, 11:14pm. I stood there frozen in shock. I was unconscious for that long? "That's enough. "Mirai, come with me", He ordered after a long silence then walked out the hospital door. I mouthed a thank you to my friends then ran to catch up to him. I opened the door of the hospital and a blast of familiar spring wind hit me. I smiled while inhaling the sweet scent when I heard a loud BOOM. My head whips to the direction I heard the boom and all I see is a huge dent in the concrete that had a million cracks in it. I look in the dark sky and I manage to catch a glimpse of Michael flying at super sonic speed before he disappears from sight. I stretch out my wings and start flying at a normal speed in the direction Michael went. Was he mad about something? Did I do something? I sigh internally while flying.
