Chapter 1 : The New Student
Kippy walks into school, passing by this dark-haired boy in a purple hoodie that she has never seen before.
"I wonder who that is?" Lingers in her mind until a familiar voice makes her lose my flaky train of thought.
"Yo~ Kip! What's up?" said a voice.
"Hey...Danny..." Kippy replies sleepily.
"You seem tired. Were you up all night talking to someone?" Danny asks.
"Maybe a boy? Perhaps? Danny continues while poking Kippy with her elbow.
"No... I have just been restless at night for some weird reason..." Kippy replies shifting her backpack on her shoulder.
"What's new with you?" Kippy says sensing that Danny wants to change the subject.
"Nothing at the moment BUT did you hear about the Halloween party tomorrow night?" Danny replies.
"I guess... Who is hosting it this year?" Kippy asks walking towards her locker.
"Just some seniors but by now everyone knows about--" Danny starts to reply.
Kippy sees a flash of purple before Danny turns around. Kippy notices it was the boy she saw earlier.
"Excuse me. Can one of you point me in the direction of the principal's office?" He asks, staring at us with his bright brown eyes.
"Sure. She’ll do you one better; she will escort you there." Danny says pointing to Kippy.
It takes Kippy a few minutes to realize what Danny had just said. When Kippy realized it shook her awake.
“Way to throw me under the bus Danny.” Kippy thought, turning towards the boy.
At this point it was too late to refuse because Danny was halfway towards our homeroom leaving her alone with the new kid.
"Okay, the principal's office is just down this hallway." Kippy says, turning away from his face.
"Just lead the way." He replies flashing a smirk.
After some stiff minutes pass by she blurts out "Do you smell something?"
"It must be my new shampoo, it’s a little on the strong side." He replies.
"Way to go make the mood more awkward." Kippy thought to herself, avoiding eye contact.
"Can I ask you something since we are alone --?" he starts to say.
"It’s Kip." She replies.
"Where are my manners? My name is Ren." He says with a bit of a smile his earrings reflect some light off them.
"Anyway, how much do you believe in the supernatural?" He asks, stopping right near the door to the principal’s office.
The shadows make his eyes turn chestnut brown.
"The only supernatural things I believe in are witches/wizards or whatever we call them now." Kippy replies trying to laugh it off.
"Okay..." He answers indifferently.
"What did he expect me to say?" She thought as he opened the door.
"Thank you for escorting me here, see you later." He says as he closes the door.
"Most awkward first impression ever." She thinks to herself walking down the hallway.
The day continues, it finally turns to lunch time.
Danny continues talking about the Halloween party. As they are just finishing their lunch.
"Now half of the school is going to this party." Danny says.
"I’m just guessing but you sound like you want to go." Kippy replies grabbing her lunch tray.
"Heck yeah! I want to go! Can we brainstorm costume ideas at your house after school?" Danny replies throwing her food away.
"Yeah, can't see why not." Kippy replies throwing the lunch tray in the trash can.
"Alright see you after school." Danny says as she walks away.
"See you." Kippy replies.
At Kippy’s house up in her room, Her and Danny spent twenty minutes talking about their costumes.
"Should we go as a pair?" Danny asks.
"Just friends in different costumes." Kippy replies.
"Do you want store bought or do we want to make half make half bought?" Danny asks.
"It’s tomorrow so I guess store bought." Kippy replies.
"What are you thinking of--" Danny's starts to say as her phone rings.
Danny pulls out her phone "I have to take this." she says walking away.
She comes back after a few minutes saying, "I need to go home."
"Okay, see you." Kippy says, “opening the door.
"See you tomorrow." Danny replies.

"I guess it was her father being his overprotective self." Kippy thought as if she closed the door behind Danny.
