I want to be a kid once more,
a carefree bird across the sky.
I want to be small again,
when life held no responsibilities.
I want to play with dolls,
to run and laugh with children,
to fly on swings like fairies do,
feeling the wind hold me again.
I want to sleep in peace,
without the weight of tension.
I want to laugh without judgment,
without the fear of correction.
I want to dance in the rain,
to talk without hesitation,
to speak without that heavy thought —
what will people think of me?
I don’t know when it happened —
the day my childhood died,
when I silenced the child inside me
and buried her away.
But for one day, just one,
I want to set her free.
I want to be a kid again,
and relive all of me.
And maybe, if I find her,
she’ll stay a part of me.
