林昱丞剛畢業，因觸碰租屋處來歷不明的舊信件，意外穿越回民國五十八年的戒嚴高雄 。他被善良的葉婉佳收留，並在白色恐怖的壓抑氛圍下，親歷旁人因政治冤案遇害的時代悲劇 。隨後他亦遭牽連入獄，並在泰源監獄巧遇婉佳苦等卻音訊全無的未婚夫羅泰祥 。 得知監獄即將爆發歷史上的「泰源事件」，林昱丞為了婉佳的幸福，在暴動當天拼死與羅泰祥扭打，成功攔下他去送死 。隨後，林昱丞觸碰了羅泰祥留下的遺書，在神秘光影中被傳送回現代 。他依循線索，在如今已成博物館的舊地挖出了婉佳幾年後寫給他的信與結婚照 。得知兩人最終平安完婚、獲得幸福，林昱丞看著照片中深愛女孩的笑顏，內心也終於釋懷，為這場跨越時空的救贖畫下句點 。
