He wrote carefully beneath my list.

Grow old together.

I stared at those three words.

Then looked at him.

"You really think that far ahead?"

He smiled.

"I don't just want tomorrow with you."

"I want every tomorrow."

I closed the notebook and held it against my chest.

"Let's promise something."

"No matter where life takes us..."

"We'll never stop talking."

"And we'll always tell each other the truth."

Korn held out his little finger with a shy smile.

"A promise?"

I laughed.

"You're acting like a child."

I hooked my little finger with his.

"A promise."

Neither of us knew what the future would bring.
