As we were talking, two juniors walked past us.

One of them greeted Korn.

"Korn!"

"We're going now."

"I'll see you tomorrow."

After they left, I smiled.

"You seem popular."

He shook his head.

"Not really."

"They're just classmates."

"You know everyone's name."

I laughed.

"I'm terrible with names."

That evening, I was walking home alone when I noticed Narin standing across the street.

He wasn't alone.

He was talking to another boy.

They seemed to be laughing about something.

I couldn't hear the conversation.

It looked harmless.

Just two students talking after school.

Before I could call out...

Narin waved goodbye to the boy.

Then he turned and saw me.

"Oh."

"When did you get here?"

"Just now."

He smiled.

"I was helping him with an assignment."

"The same friend?"

"Yeah."

I nodded.

"I see."

He slipped his hands into his pockets.

"I should get home."

"I'll see you tomorrow."

"See you."

He walked away.

I looked back once.

The other boy was still standing at the corner.

Watching Narin leave.

I didn't know who he was.

I didn't know his name.
