Darcy marched through the front door with all the confidence of a fox.
“Marie?”6Please respect copyright.PENANAaVkJ2XBgqp
He called, the door slamming shut behind him as he tossed his overcoat onto an armchair.
Marie sighed, walking out of the kitchen and wiping her flour covered hands on her apron.
“Yes, dear?”
She replied, glancing up at him with heavy eyes.
“Is dinner ready?”
He inquired, hanging his hat on a hook by the door.
Marie nodded with a tight lipped smile.
“In a minute.”
She replied stiffly.
Rosafiere aspeared in the doorway.
“Is everything alright, Marie?”
She asked, touching Marie’s sleeve.
“...And Darcy.”6Please respect copyright.PENANATikZksvPqk
She added, her eyes flicking to Marie’s husband.
“Nothing, Rosey.”
Marie replied cheerfully, stepping past her friend and into the kitchen.
Rosafiere tilted her head to acnknowlege Darcy, her tongue tracing the point of her canine.
Darcy raised his eyebrows.
“Yes?”
“Nothing.”
Rosafiere scoffed, turning on her heel and following after Marie.
Darcy blinked for a moment.
“She is… odd.”
Darcy muttered to himself, plopping down in the armchair and crossing his legs.
Rosafiere drifted down the hallway, her fists clenched into her skirt.
“I ought to… no, no I must… practice restraint.”
She mumbled under her breath to herself.
Darcy laughed to himself, pulling a crimson bottle of wine out from under the side table and taking a long swig.
“Women are so strange.”
He gurgled into the flask.6Please respect copyright.PENANAfsod6hBD1V
