Chapter One: The Night Fang Unit
Night.
The outskirts of Qingxuan Town.
An abandoned industrial district.
A logistics warehouse that had been out of use for years stood beneath the night sky. Its outer walls were stained with rain marks and graffiti, and several dents had been smashed into the rolling steel door. A few modified motorcycles were parked near the entrance, along with a black van. Its headlights were still on, casting pale beams across the damp concrete ground and reflecting off puddles of oil and water.
Inside the warehouse, the LED tubes flickered on and off.
Bzzzt—
Bzzzt—
The sound of electric current mixed with the distant noise of traffic, making the entire space feel cold, heavy, and suffocating.
The shelves had been pushed against the walls. Wooden crates were stacked into crude partitions. Several metal tables had been shoved together in the center. Cigarette packs, liquor bottles, phones, walkie-talkies, and a few oil-stained short knives were scattered across them.
In one corner, someone was watching surveillance footage on a laptop.
The screen showed the road outside the warehouse.
A man was walking toward them.
Black jacket.
One hand in his pocket.
His pace was not fast.
But he did not stop.
The underling stared at the screen. His face slowly turned pale.
“Boss…”
The burly man sitting by the metal table raised his eyes.
“Speak.”
The underling handed over the phone. His voice was a little dry.
“Lin Yunlong… is here.”
The noisy warehouse suddenly fell silent for a moment.
Someone stopped lifting his bottle.
Someone turned his head.
Someone frowned.
The burly man stared at the screen for two seconds.
“How many?”
The underling paused.
“…One.”
The warehouse went quiet for another second.
Then laughter exploded.
“One?!”
“Did he come here to die?”
“Hahahaha—”
“So what if he’s Lin Yunlong? We’ve got dozens of people here!”
The laughter bounced between the containers, iron racks, and concrete walls, sharp and hollow.
Just then—
Boom.

The rolling steel door outside the warehouse trembled.
Everyone turned at the same time.
The door was slowly pulled up from the outside.
Clack-clack-clack-clack—
The piercing scrape of metal dragged long through the night.
A gust of night wind poured in, making fine ripples spread across the oily puddles on the floor.
A man stood at the entrance.
Lin Yunlong.
He lowered his head and patted the rainwater from his jacket, as if he had merely stopped by a convenience store.
Then he raised his eyes and looked at the dozens of men inside the warehouse.
There was no anger.
No killing intent.
Only a faint, cold calm.
The burly man slowly stood up.
“Lin Yunlong.”
Lin Yunlong did not answer.
His gaze swept across the warehouse.
The cameras.
The metal tables.
The shelves.
The oily water.
The van.
The wooden crates.
And the men holding knives and clubs, whose grips had already tightened without them noticing.
Finally, he looked at the burly man.
“Where are the Night Fang Unit members?”
The burly man’s face darkened.
His roar exploded through the warehouse.
“Take him down!”
More than a dozen men rushed forward at once.
The man at the front grabbed an iron club and brought it down toward Lin Yunlong’s head.
Lin Yunlong did not retreat.
His toes stepped through a puddle of oily water, and his body slid forward along the wet concrete floor.
A sliding entry.
The iron club swept over his head and struck nothing.
In the next instant, he had already slipped in beneath the man’s chest.
His fist shot out in a short, compact motion.
Bang!
The punch landed on the chin.
The man’s head snapped backward. It was as if the support had been pulled out from under his feet, and his entire body fell flat onto his back.
A second man came in from the side with a short knife.
Lin Yunlong turned his body, letting the blade scrape past his jacket. His hand reversed, caught the man’s wrist, and dragged him sideways. At the same time, he kicked open the van door.
The door cut in.
Bang!
The van door smashed hard into the side of the man’s face.
He slid down against the black body of the vehicle. The short knife fell to the floor and bounced twice.
Someone lunged at him from behind, trying to wrap both arms around Lin Yunlong’s waist.
Lin Yunlong did not look back.
His weight sank.
His shoulder drove backward.
The man’s chest caved with a dull impact. Before his hands could lock, Lin Yunlong had already reached back and seized him by the collar.
A back throw.
Bang!!

The man was lifted and flipped backward. His back slammed heavily into the concrete.
Water splashed out from the puddles.
Two more men charged at him from the side.
Lin Yunlong did not block them head-on.
He grabbed one of them by the collar, let his own body fall backward instead, planted his foot against the man’s abdomen, and used the force of the man’s forward rush to send him flying.
Tomoe nage.
The man was thrown through the air. His back crashed into the shelves behind him.
Boom!
The iron rack collapsed.
Wooden crates, parts, and metal barrels scattered everywhere. Three men behind it were knocked down in a tangled heap.
“This guy—!”
A knife wielder rushed out from beside the van, driving his blade straight toward Lin Yunlong’s abdomen.
Lin Yunlong turned aside and avoided the thrust. His palm locked onto the man’s wrist from the outside.
The man tried to pull free.
He could not.
Lin Yunlong stepped forward with the pull, his whole body springing briefly into the air. Both legs locked around the man’s shoulder and neck, and his body twisted in midair.
A jumping armbar.
Bang!
The knife wielder was dragged down to the ground with him.
But the only one who had truly lost control was the knife wielder.
His arm was stretched straight. His shoulder looked as if it were being torn apart. His entire face turned white from the pain.
The short knife slipped from his fingers and dropped onto the concrete with a clear ring.
Lin Yunlong did not linger.
He released.
Rolled over.
Stood up.
The iron club coming from behind him struck only empty air.
The club hit the ground with a dull thud.
Lin Yunlong turned and threw a punch.
Bang!
The man’s chin took the hit. His eyes instantly went blank, and his body fell backward.
Another man roared and rushed in, sweeping an iron club sideways.
Lin Yunlong dropped low and slid forward. His back almost brushed against the cold, wet floor as he passed beneath the club.
The man’s swing missed, and his footwork stumbled forward.
Lin Yunlong was already on the ground. His legs wrapped around the man’s neck, trapping the arm that held the club as well.
The man’s face turned red in an instant.
No sound came from his throat.
A triangle choke.
But Lin Yunlong only held it for a moment.
That was enough.
He released his legs, rolled up, and kicked the man into the crowd behind him.
Bang!
Three men crashed into each other.
The laughter in the warehouse was long gone.
All that remained was rapid breathing, chaotic footsteps, and the grinding sound of knives and clubs being gripped too tightly.
A massive fighter growled and charged, trying to smash Lin Yunlong down with his body.
Lin Yunlong stepped back half a pace with the momentum, hooked his arm around the man’s shoulder line, and swept his foot.
The man’s balance broke.
Lin Yunlong immediately drove him sideways into the iron door.
Door slam.
Bang!!
His back crashed into the panel.
The iron door shrieked from the impact.
Before he could rebound, Lin Yunlong added one more punch.
To the chin.
The man’s eyes went empty. He slowly slid down the door and ended up sitting on the floor.
Lin Yunlong stood where he was, the hem of his jacket stained with water.
His breathing was still steady.
As if everything that had just happened was only a warm-up.
The burly man’s expression turned ugly. He roared again.
“Go!”
“He’s only one man!”
That sentence seemed to remind everyone.
The remaining men rushed forward once more.
Lin Yunlong raised his eyes and looked across the warehouse.
The metal tables.
The oily water.
The van door.
The shelves.
The wooden crates.
The iron door.
And the men who had already begun to fear him, but were still being pushed forward by the crowd.
The light flickered violently.
The scene seemed to be cut apart by the night.
Only sound remained.
Bang!!
Someone was thrown into a stack of wooden crates. The boards burst apart.
Thud!!
Someone was smashed into the van door by a shoulder check, leaving a dent in the body of the vehicle.
Clang!!
Someone’s arm was locked. His iron club fell to the ground and rolled into the darkness.
Boom!!
Another shelf collapsed, pinning several men beneath it.
Bang!!!
The last man was seized by the back of the neck and slammed onto an overturned metal table. His face pressed against the cold surface, and he did not even dare to breathe too loudly.
Then—
Everything became quiet again.
The sound of dripping water returned.
Drip.
Drip.
Three minutes later.
Only Lin Yunlong remained standing inside the warehouse.
Men lay scattered across the floor.
The metal tables had been flipped over. The shelves had collapsed. The van door was dented. Oily water mixed with broken glass and flowed into the drain.
Lin Yunlong stood in the center, his breathing calm.
As if nothing had happened.
He walked up to the burly man and looked down at his terrified face.
His voice was flat.
“The Night Fang Unit…”
The burly man’s lips trembled.
He could not say a single word.
Outside the warehouse—
In the darkness—
A pair of eyes silently watched everything.
There was no killing intent.
Even the sound of breathing seemed to have been hidden by the night wind.
The person spoke in a low voice.
“Confirmed.”
A pause.
“Target: Lin Yunlong.”
His tone was calm.
“Combat ability… exceeds the intelligence report.”
Inside the warehouse, Lin Yunlong suddenly stopped.
He did not turn around.
Only his eyes sank slightly.
In the next instant, he lifted his head and looked toward the window.
The wind blew past.
There was nothing outside.
But Lin Yunlong’s eyes changed.
He murmured,
“…Not an ordinary person.”
The moment his voice fell, his figure vanished from where he stood.
Bang!!
He smashed straight through the warehouse side door. Night wind poured in behind him.
On the rooftop, a dark figure had just landed and had not yet steadied himself when a low voice suddenly came from behind.
“Who are you watching?”
The ninja’s pupils shrank. Almost by instinct, he flipped forward, touched the roof edge with the tip of his foot, and instantly pulled away, landing on the opposite rooftop.
He stared hard at Lin Yunlong.
For the first time, there was a change in his eyes.
“Reaction speed… abnormal.”
Lin Yunlong did not pursue.
He simply stood at the edge of the rooftop and looked at him.
The night wind lifted his jacket.
His gaze slowly grew cold, as if he were judging the person before him—and also judging something deeper behind him.
The wind passed between them.
Neither of them moved first.
The night sank heavier.
At the same time—
Qingxuan Sect.
The courtyard was silent.
Lin Hao stood before the wooden dummy and looked up at the night sky.
The wind came from the mountain forest, carrying an indescribable chill.
His brows furrowed slightly.
“Tonight… something feels wrong.”
In the darkness far away, it seemed as if something was slowly drawing near.
And Lin Hao still did not know—
After this night,
Qingxuan Town would no longer be just Qingxuan Town.
