當D.Hilbert的學生告訴他，想轉行改寫小說，Hilbert有點生氣地說：

數學比小說更需要想像力。誠然。


我喜愛數學，但我的一生經歷了許多離奇怪誕的事。

因此起心動念寫了「希波克拉底傳奇」

小說的背景是從西元前431年到西元前404年的伯羅奔尼薩戰爭。

這時候古典雅典從興盛到滅亡，當然，雅典的數學要到阿基米德死於羅馬士兵之手才正式結束。

第一卷 曙光初現 427 BC 春天 希俄斯島。

第二卷 哲學饗宴 421 BC 秋天 雅典。

第三卷 風雲際會 416 BC 春天 基亞島。

第四卷 帝國日暮 410 BC 秋天 雅典 基亞島 塔蘭多 敘拉古。

第五卷 縱橫列國 404 BC 春天

...

寫完「傳奇」，轉眼看著眼前的世界。

依然戰亂不歇，強權依然藉著自由、人權、價值之名行弱肉強食之實。

歷史並不重演，只是換個方式。
