Lara Rosewood came home from her crazy night clubbing with her two best friends who were practically her sisters as they all lived close enough to see each other every weekend. It had become a tradition. Every Saturday evening they go to bars, catch up on the week and let loose. Lara fell asleep on her double bed which had light cream beading and pillow cases with a light blue bed runner and matching throw pillows, fully clothed, shoes and all she had been out longer than expected drinking a little more than she had intended. She was really going to regret it in the morning but for her it was a tomorrow her problem. By midnight she was in a coma state, nobody was waking her.
The next morning she woke up and she was staring at the ceiling of her room propped up on a mountie of the blue pillows which Lara had no recollection of creating but thought nothing of it as her head was still pounding which made her start seriously regretting the second round of 10 Martinez Layla had coerced her into having, But she had done crazier things in a drunken sleep than create a mountie of pillows to sleep against.
As she opened her eyes more everything was the same, like always the bed in the bay window streaming in the early morning light, shelves along the peach walls up to her white wardrobe in the corner facing the photo covered white and blue panelled door. The unit next to her with all her nicknacks was just as cluttered with snacks and the clock the girls had urged her to get because of the fact it had mushrooms and little woodland creature decorations on it which read 7 o’clock in the morning. Knowing that if she didn’t move anytime soon she wasn’t going to start the day for another five hours especially because she felt like hell. Her eyes finally came too looking at the opposite wall where her TV was hung, she let out this blood curdling scream. There was a huge, dark, black, hairy tarantula. It looked like it was dead the way its legs were curled inwards, so it was really a tarantula carcass more than anything, if it was truly dead but it was awful, and Lara really hated spiders. She pulled her legs fully up to her chest holding them tight she was pressed against the headboard as the pillows had toppled in her brisk movement which sent sharp pain through her back but she ignored it because if it wasn't actually dead and was simply asleep a spider that size could kill her in seconds, silent screams trying to escape her mouth like she had lost all use of her vocal chords, tears trickled down her face she needed a plan. It wouldn’t be safe to go out the window, but there was no way she was going out the bedroom door. She was still clothed so not exactly thinking and mostly panicking, She opened the window, breathed a huge breath of fresh air and took her chances. Everything outside felt normal and she didn’t fancy going back into the house, especially with what was in her room so she jumped from the second story onto the grass but landed unevenly and fell her ankle throbbed but she wasn't thinking straight there was no chance in hell that she was going back into that house and letting the flight instinct take over she long-halled it to the very end of the garden, she clambered over the fence and into the little alleyway next door, she followed it to the road not really deciding where she was headed and ran in the opposite direction, not looking back. When she felt she was a good distance away she slowed down not stopping feeling like her legs were carrying her and not her brain she checked her Jean jacket pockets there was a pen, a tin of mints, a pack of skittles, wire earphones, and her phone she was relieved to find it but felt instant dread that it was on five percent she urgently put it on low power mode and then checked her friends locations they were both at home Layla wouldn't be any help as she was probably worse than Lara felt as she always drank double and also she lived further so her best bet would be to go see Leah at least her husband would be able to help if Leah was still asleep, Lara thought to herself so with that decision in mind she put her phone back in her pocket took some skittles as a sugar boost and at the end of the next road took a right. Once she made it to the main road she then ran flat out feeling constant sharp pain which her mind seemed to be forcing herself to ignore, till she came to the street which led to the avenue Leah lived on. She paused and leant against a brick wall to catch her breath when she was hit with some unbelievable pain looking down for the source her ankle had swelled it must have been the fall it hadn't had seemed so serious then, trying to push it away she jogged the rest of the way to Leah's limping slightly and panting trying to get air to her lungs. She reached the door and rapped hard on the wooden door, ringing the bell frantically, finding it increasingly difficult to stand on her left leg. It was now swelling even more, as Leah's husband opened the door Lara stumbled over the threshold into his arms. He closed it hurriedly and carried her into the living room dropping her gently on the gray sofa as his arms left her back it revealed a large gash and blood covered his arms and he disappeared for what felt like forever. Lara was now in agonizing pain every time she moved her back which would send sharp pain through her nerves and her ankle was throbbing, as the adrenaline crashed she started violently shaking the pain made her feel dizzy and nauseous her eyes were going fuzzy and she fought to stay conscious the impulse to throw up was getting harder and harder to ignore and as if he had anticipated it luke came in with a bucket handing to to her as she coughed up white liquid. Luke was now assessing her situation; he then called out, “Oscar buddy can you come here for a moment?" When little 6 year old Oscar came wandering into the living room luke squatted down in front of him blocking his view he asked “Buddy can you do me a favor? Go get me the pillows off of the guest room bed, the magazine's in the bathroom, I know you know where mummy keeps them and then out of my wardrobe can you get me some of my belts too? ” Oscar stood there taking in the request and then said okay in such a cute voice and ran upstairs. Luke then turned his attention to Lara he removed her jacket in time with her vomiting and they managed to take of her top from the front as there was technically no back now, “Lara lie on your side facing the back of the sofa and have your left foot in the air." he said grabbing the empty jug off the side and filling it with water he then grabbed a towel along with some clothes and joined her by the sofa. He placed the towel on the wooden floor and poured the lukewarm water down her back which stung like a thousand tiny needles stabbing her in her back, "Why does that sting!" Lara asked frantically now, involuntarily shaking and biting her lip trying to stop herself screaming out, “You have a huge gash down your back. Luckily it's only skin deep I can't see any muscle or fat cells so a light bandage with fix it but its still bleeding excessively so I'm going to have to apply pressure so a clot can form and stop the flow.” he said trying to keep a level voice but Lara could tell his nerves were rising. The throbbing in her foot was getting worse and combined with the stinging from her back wound, Lara was struggling to keep herself from throwing up again or passing out. She watched Luke go back into the kitchen but return seconds later empty handed, he clearly hadn't found what he wanted and muttering under his breath he took of his gray shirt revealing his refined 6 pack and muscular arms in slow motion, he was well toned which wasn't unexpected as he had been a firefighter until he met Leah.
Lara was not impressed with what he did next, because with his shirt he wrapped it around his hand as a tight pad and pressed firmly against Lara's back smearing the blood, she had to bite down on her hand to stop herself from screaming out in pain, tears fell from the corners of her pale green eyes onto the sofa making it look a lot darker than it should be in the spots the water was pooling. Oscar had come back downstairs now and deposited the items he was sent to retrieve, and then really innocently he asked, "What's wrong with auntie Lara?" A slight quiver in his voice which he was seriously trying to hide not very well which made Lara feel worse, she didn’t want Oscar to be sad or worried for her; she was supposed to be the grown-up, the one able to protect him. Luke, clearly feeling that Oscar didn't need to see this, he spoke directly but softly to Oscar and said, "Nothing I can't handle buddy now go back and finish your pancakes with Milla." When Oscar had run off Luke pushed his hand a little harder against her back and lifted her injured ankle up into the air lowering it onto a pillow stack he had made which instantly felt better lifting pressure but the movement moved her back which sent shooting pain through her spine over and over again, after ten minutes of agony Luke let go of her back and seemed satisfied that she was no longer exerting copious amounts of blood, "It will heal, but it's going the scar." he said distractedly. Then using the clothes he tentatively wiped away the blood which was close to staining her skin. His touch was smooth and soft as if she was one of his patients at the hospital.
Afterwards Luke turned his attention to her ankle now assessing the situation talking to himself and when he said scissors Lara took her hand out of her mouth and demanded answers, “What exactly are you going to do with scissors!?” Luke looked sort of nervous as he took the scissors from the basket on the middle table, “If I don't cut your shoe off there may be complications.” This news was worse than finding out she had to get rid of her favourite jacket “These are my favourite going out shoes they were worth so much!” Lara said outraged, “You can buy new shoes, you can't buy a new foot! Lara, this is serious !” and as luke cut the laces and down the sides of the shoe lara felt pain for her shoe more than any pain from her ankle. When he had removed the shoe he took two fingers one on the top of the foot and one behind the inner ankle where he tested for a pulse and after counting for a while he came to the conclusion of a steady throbbing which he thought was good and was relieved that there was no blood flow complications, Just to be sure he pinched her big toe till it turned white which stung as he held tightly and checking the silver wrist watch every second it took no longer than it was supposed to for the pink blood colour to return to her toe. Luke then asked Lara to close her eyes, focus and clear her mind so she did and he asked, “Can you feel this?” and Lara could feel him lightly scratching the skin of the end of her toes. She opened her eyes and it felt ticklish, Luke stopped and then asked, “Try pulling your big toe towards you?” Lara tired and like usual it lifted and moved. With every movement Luke nodded and seemed calmer, since Lara had been looking at her foot her eyes had wandered to her ballooning ankle. The skin was stretched so tightly it looked glossy and with the enormous bruising occurring lara had to pull her eyes away as it made her feel nauseous. “Lara this is going to hurt but i have to splint it.” Luke said tentatively, “What exactly are you going to do?” Lara asked whinising in pain as she shifted her torso to look at Luke, who didn't reply, “Luke!” Lara yelled which clearly had woken up Leah who came down the stairs and into the living room, and Luke greeted her with, “Leah can you get me the frozen peas from the freezer please?” and not questioning anything Leah walked away holding her head. Luke then took the magazines and curled them around her ankle using the belts to fasten them to her ankle like a makeshift cast/splint. As the last buckle was fastened Leah came back with the frozen peas and a towel, "Don't put ice directly on skin remember lucas.” Leah said wrapping the peas and placing them on Lara's ankle tentatively. The peas created a nice numbness stopping the sharp shards of pain coursing through her ankle and leg. “This will only numb the pain. Let me go to the medicine cabinet and see if we have any pain killers.” Leah tailed off as she wandered up the stairs.
When she returned she had some pills and a roll of bandages, “Sit up honey, come on.” Leah urged gesturing with her hands, Lara sat up trying not to move any more than she needed to, Leah handed her the pain killers and started to wrap the bandages around her torso, “They got you good this starts just above the middle of your shoulder blades and ends around your tail bone. What really happened?” “I don't know what happened. I woke up and it was there, he knows where I was, he knows! And i ran i couldnt stop running i just kept running i couldnt stay there, but it was dead, im sure it was dead it was all curled up and it was huge, i mean almost as big as my room it was definitely his doing because it wasn't getting through a doorway on its own!” Lara started babbling incoherently, “Lucas get some water.” Leah shimmied him away and then trying to make sense of the gibberish asked, “Is he the person I think you mean? And what was in your room hun?” collecting herself Lara answered the questions “He, he, he who we gave away to the council four or five years ago, he knows and he sent that thing the spider that usually kills his loose ends, it was in my room i was a loose end he will find all of us i know he will its inevitable, we need to call layla no amount of witness protection is going to stop him. This is just the beginning!” Lara was ranting now. Luke came back into the room with the water and handed it to her, “Take the panadol it will erase the pain.” Leah was now pacing back and forth murmuring words and occasionally sentences, often repeating, “He knew where you were,” or, “How aren’t you dead.” and fidgeting with her hands like she used to do before a really major exam. Luke tried to comfort her but the pacing seemed to be calming her and stopping a break down, “We need to call Layla, and fill her in, she will want to know.” Lara finally piped up after she had taken the pills and drank the water. Leah stopped pacing, processed the request and seemed to decide it wasn't unreasonable and then walked over to the house phone and started to dial, “Why aren’t you phoning her on your mobile?” Lara said bewildered, and as she finished dialing and the phone started ringing Leah took her purse of the coffee table and pulled out two phones, one was hers and the other one which had a violet bubble phone case “aah,” Lara let out a sigh, “You have Layla’s phone.” Leah nodded, mouthing yeah as the phone picked up, in her posh English phone voice she answered, “Hello layla, how are you this fine morning? Did you sleep well?” pausing for Layla to reply and then carrying on, “Good im glad, well i have your phone yes do not worry, but that isn’t the reason im calling , the real reason is because Lara was attacked last night, now im not going to disclose any details over the phone but Luke has to take Oscar to football practice soon so ill have his swing by and pick you up on the way back we need to talk.” Leah finished talking, held the phone to her ear letting Layla talk and then said, “Bye,” and hung up.
“Im going to get you a t-shirt so you aren’t cold and then im going to get oscar ready for practice and you should just rest, you should take a nap till Luke comes back with layla, okay?” Leah asked with a sense that there was no answer that wasn’t yes so Lara lay back down and closed her eyes listening to Luke clean up around her and then Leah rangle the kids upstairs to change, Luke searching for the missing shin pad and Amelia crying because she couldn’t find the bear she wanted. By the time Luke and Oscar left the house Leah sounded exhausted but was still chasing Amelia around yelling, “Millie you have to wear trousers, i mean it!” She finally caught up to her and put the trousers on her, then placed her in the play pen with toys, teddies and a Disney movie. Once she cleaned up the kitchen and hovered the house she collapsed on the other sofa and the house was silent which let Lara drift into a light sleep where she was having obscure dreams about a utopia where she could train and let her magic rain free and she seemed fully in control, which was abruptly interrupted as she was startled awake by the front door being shut extremely loudly, Leah had clearly too fallen asleep as she also jumped up into a sitting position and then rushed to greet them in the hall ushering them into the living room turning into host mode. Lara seriously didn’t understand how she did it as she herself still felt hung over and she was on pain killers Leah was now rushing around making drinks and bought in an assortment of fruit in bowls Luke had to physically stop her from cutting up a whole watermelon she had just happened to pick up at the store the other day. When they were all settled Leah, especially Layla asked “So why did we have to meet face to face and why is Lara lying on the sofa with her leg in magazines and her torso wrapped in bandages?” which sent Leah into an outrage at herself that she had forgotten to get Lara a t-shirt that she seemed to be moments away from giving Lara the t-shirt of her own back, “Calm down Leah you are extremely on edge i will get Lara a t-shirt you tell Layla why she is here.” Luke said getting up, taking a strawberry and vacating the room. Leah then delved into the details “Okay so Lara was attacked and she said it was a spider so he knows where she lives which means he isn’t far of finding out where we live but as she was in most of the headlines she must have been the main priority but we musn’t underestimate him that would be a mistake on are part, what i cannot figure out is how she is alive because if it was the usual spider he sends to tie up loose ends then she should have been dead but she managed to escape with just a scratch,” as Leah paused to take a breath Lara seized the opportunity to jump in, “I hardly call this a scratch, but anyway, when i woke up it was dead like i was going to cut me up but someone intercepted it and killed it without waking me up like a guardian angel or something was watching over me, protecting me somehow. But that would mean two sets of people know where i was potentially the guardian knows where i am now.” When she finished Leah was pacing, checking the windows and drawing the blinds a little lower, Luke returned and Layla helped Lara into the t-shirt as Luke pulled Leah back onto the sofa rubbing her shoulders trying to calm her. “Should we try contacting the council?” Luke queried, "It's a good idea but with what magic we locked are magic signatures up and without them we can't perform any spells and would we want to risk contacting them and giving away are location with a magical beacon from a residence otherwise unknown to anyone who isn't a close friend or colleague,” Layla pointed out, “But with no way to contact the council and no way anyone of them were going back to Lara's house they were sitting ducks till he found them or the council contacted them about the trial which wasn't very likely.” nobody really had any ideas on what to do next or what their game plan would be, everyone was clearly trying to come up with something which might be useful but everything would have limitations of no magic or it would be too risky “We all have jobs so going straight to council high court isn’t an option, so i guess its go about business as usual?” Layla thought outloud, “How come the council were not notified by the use of magic in your house?” Luke had clearly been mulling the thought over in his head for a long while. “The council are not the best at noticing anything usually but something definitely is fishy about it.” Lara was now questioning it herself. “We need some kind of plan though, we can't just be sitting ducks!” Leah reiterated, "Yes we need a plan but with no tools or immediate solutions i say Lara stays here layla and i will go to work as usual Layla can cover for lara so nobody gets suspicious at her sudden disappearance, nobody can know this has happened that's indefinite,” Luke tried to convey. “Okay if that is our plan i want to know the whole story, why is Lara crippled,” Layla finally asked, Leah turned to look at Lara shooting her a look of do you want me to explain? Lara was glad she offered but she felt okay to explain and jumped right into the story, "It's not exactly a long story but i got home last night passed out hard and woke up this morning and this huge spider was curled up dead under my tv blocking the door it freaked me out so much my fight or flight kicked in probably more than it should have and i jumped out my bedroom window sprained my ankle but wasnt thinking straight so i kept running till i got her and then i find i have a huge gash down my back im clearly a loose end he tried to tie up unsuccessfully so it seems i have some guardian angel which is quite disconcerting to say the least but then your all caught up Luke patched me up and now you got here so yeah that's the story.” Nobody spoke after Lara finished and Lara felt a little light headed from talking so much at her normal fast pace she had to take a strawberry to chew even though she didn't feel much like eating. The strawberries were quite refreshing and juicy with the delightful perfect strawberry taste in every bite. They were so sweet and the red colour was deep and strong like it had its own flavour. The silence was deafening; nobody could figure out what exactly to say. Milla interrupted it by babbling something which Leah took as her wanting snacks so leah got up grabbed a bowl from the kitchen put an assortment of fruit in it and handed over the pen gait letting her get back to the movie she was watching and Leah then collapsed down next to luke who started to rub her shoulders to calm her, “We have a plan now so ill go out get sweet snacks and you girls can watch a movie decompress from this ordeal and then i can drop Layla home when i go and get Oscar from football, that sound okay to you guys ?” Luke voiced his idea to the girls who mumbled in agreement. Luke then stood up and guided Leah to sit next to Layla. He turned on the TV, put the remote in the middle and then went into the hallway, put shoes on and grabbed keys before leaving the house to go to the corner shop by the round about. Layla flicked through the disney movies and just picked any random one, they ate the fruit, joked and just tried to relax. Luke came back, filled the empty bowls with popcorn, pretzels, crisps, chocolate fingers, rolos, and opened a tray of brownies he had found, checked if they needed anything else didn’t wait for an answer and filled glasses with water and told them to drink as it would make them feel better and then he kissed Leah on the forehead said by the milla and left into the backgarden. “So what's Luke doing in the garden now?” Layla inquired, “Well he will probably be making it look right out of a magazine won't he Leah?” Lara said jokingly, “Probably, he got really into gardening so he deweeds every weekend and then he will probably be in the shed till i call him for dinner as it wasn't worth it to call him for lunch if he was in the zone so we installed a mini fridge down there so he has cold drinks and snacks and the coffee maker came yesterday for him so he will probably instal that today and then get right into whatever he is working on at the current moment i have no idea what exactly it is because it changes so often he has a new hobby every month as he manages to master everything its crazy but also handy as he can now fix all the plumbing issues we were having which really helps monetary wise so we can spend a little more on the kids.” Leah replied after taking a sip of water pulling a face at it then taking another sip not minding it so much but still looking like something was wrong with it. “Leah? Something wrong?” Layla asked, looking with concern at her own glass “I'm not sure it just tastes weird like metallic fruit.” Leah replied with a hint of concern in her tone setting down her glass she walked into the kitchen and Layla followed suit, “I’ll just wait here guys.” Lara called after them. They came back in and sat down holding a bottle. It was the mango and passion fruit Leah always bought, "What's wrong with it Leah?” Lara urged. Leah pulled her glasses out of her pocket, placed them on her nose and looked intently through the water slowly opened the cap sniffed it paced it to layla who also sniffed it and Lara instantly knew something was up with the way their faces both were scrunched, “I’m calling mum!” Leah said as she frantically grabbed the house line again and wandered into the kitchen as she dialed most likely to get Luke. Lara still feeling heavily out of the loop gave Layla a questioning look, she handed Lara the bottle and sniffing the opening feeling stupid instantly screwed her own face up it was definitely contaminated “hes onto are scheduled he knows what we buy!” Lara said starting to feel her panic rise, “And Leah drank some but she is alive so it isn't poison.” Layla whispered tailing off as Leah came back into the room hanging up and putting the phone down, “Mum will be here in half an hour give or take.” Leah said, sounding out of breath, “Leah, Le hun you look a little pale sorta sweety and sound out of breath?” Layla tried to ask her to sit but Leah started to sway Layla caught her and lay her on the sofa she went into the kitchen opened the sliding back door yelled for luke and then came back in with the ear temperature checker for kids and a damp cold towel draped it over her for head and stuck the thermometer in her ear till it beeped, “Your running a high fever 40 degrees celsius even I know that’s dangerous!” Layla's voice grew hoarse with panic. Luke came in hurriedly moaning asking whats wrong till he say Layla's face and then his eyes falling on Leah laying sweating on the sofa and he switched back into doctor problem solving mode, “Get the other bag of peas and then two bags of carrots along with the two hand towels, hurry.” he demanded and layla did. Luke then squatted next to Leah rubbing her head “Leah honey can you take off your shirt please it will help to cool you down I promise.” His voice was soft and slow. Leah unbuttoned the plaid flannel shirt and dropped it as she tried to hand it to Luke, she was losing motor function. Layla came back in and helped Luke. They wrapped the carrots in the towels placing them under her armpits and then wrapped the peas in her shirt propping her head up on them. When she was calmer Luke turned to Layla and demanded answers, “How could this happen!” his voice raising slightly, “The water there was a potion in it im sure he knows are routines he knows what we buy and soon he will know where we live its not safe !” Layla said just above a whisper.
They sat in silence for the next twenty minutes till they heard a car pull up onto the drive, Jumping at something to do Luke almost ran to open the door. There were muffled voices and then Constance Leah's mum an elderly woman around 5’4 white hair glasses on a beaded chain a cable knit gray sweater covering a white shirt which the corners poked out at the bottom, slightly darker gray trousers ironed so they were pin straight and a pop of colour from her light purple slip on orthopaedic shoes, was in the doorway and she had bought two of her dogs teddy the white brown eared shih tzu bichon frise mix with cream circles around his eyes making him look like head glasses and olivia the light black yorkshire terrier with brown paws making him look like he was wearing boots, who bounded up to the cage where milla was now pressed against the bars interested in all the commotion Layla opened the gait and Teddy and Olivia run in almost knocking milla over who didn't seem to mind she was just happy to have her furry best friends back. “Now sugar, what seems to be the issue? You said something about water potion poisoning, so I bought my magical fix kit.” Constance seemed so cheery until her eyes fell on Leah lying on the sofa seeming lucid with vegetables cooling her down and Lara lying on the second sofa with her swollen ankle wrapped in magazines tied with belts. “Okay, fill me in on what is going on here, where is the water I need to know what I'm dealing with.” Layla handed Constance the bottle of water and she sniffed it too and just kept nodding her head “Come on fill me in? Lara what happened to you? Leah is self explanatory.” Constance voiced her urgence. Layla relayed Lara's story and then Constance was now stifling through her bag and pulled out a pouch of ingredients and some capsules “Do you have a mortar and pestle?” she inquired. Luke ran to the kitchen to check and to some amazement he had found one Constance then dropped a pill in the water which fizzled and turned the liquid purple before returning back to its original transparent, once she seemed satisfied with that she started to grind some of the herbs and powders from her bag together with a splash of the now neutralised water until it turned into this green slightly iridescent paste, which she then scooped out and started to mold a small amount into a ball and when it was rolling around freely in her palm she lifted Leah’s head and told her to swallow it as she tipped it into her mouth. Leah squirmed at the taste but she swallowed none the less. With what was left of the paste Constance diluted it with this shimmery purple liquid she had bought and then smeared the diluted paste over Leah's forehead, neck, arms, palms, stomach, and legs. Over the course of the next few hours Leah’s fever gradually fell and she came round. By the time Luke had to drop Layla home and pick Oscar up from football Sunday camp she was sitting upright and speaking in full sentences.
When Luke had returned with Oscar who ran into Constance's arm’s the moment he saw her they hugged and exchanged hello’s she gave him a hard boiled sweet and then Luke chivied him away taking Milla from the pen to feed the kids dinner in the kitchen and when they were eating the pasta he had made them per Leah’s instruction he tidied away the platters and containers of treats and fruit on the living room table with great relief Leah was back to the epitome of health. “That was some poison but there should be no lasting side effects. Just drink lots of fluids, preferably tap water. It will be better for you and put these in all bought drinks from now on.” Constance said handing Leah a handful of the white pills from her bag which were the same ones she had used to neutralise the water previously and then handed them both a small case of pills and said, “Take one of these if anything like this happens again and if they don’t work then don’t hesitate to call me you know my phone is always on for you girls, yes?” all three of them nodded in unison. “Now, I would stay the night to keep an eye on you But i left albus and david alone and i highly doubt he even left the out house honestly if i didn’t have the phone like to call him for lunch and dinner i would never pry him away from the trains and wood work so i should really get back and tomorrow really early we are getting a new puppy he is a long haired sausage dog and his name is bertie, absolutely adorable little guy but his previous owners are moving countries and they just simply cannot take him with them so we get a nice new addition to the family.” said Constance hastily, “Do not worry about us we are safe here for now.” Lara tried to reassure her not to much success.
Leah ushered her into the hall, opened the front door and took her mothers hands in her own and said, “ Mum I need you to do something for me and I need you to promise you will ?” Constance looked slightly worried but Leah seemed to need to get this out so she didnt interrupt which let Leah carry on, “Tomorrow after you get bertie i need you to go to the safe house down south i dont know where it is you never told me i just know its down south but you need to promise me you will pack up and go its not running or hiding i just need peace of mind that you, dad, albus, teddy, olivia, and now bertie are safe. Okay?” Leah let out a huge breath like she hadn’t been permitting herself to breath till she got it out and Constance took that at as a sign to reply, “I don't like hiding or running but if it will help you im willing to take your dad and the babies to the safe house i will pack us tonight and we will go tomorrow as late as lunch. Now I won't be able to contact you when I'm there and so I will leave you a message on the machine before I leave so you can play it back to hear my voice as I know you like to do that okay hun?” Leah smiled in joy at getting the answer she had clearly needed to hear, “Ohh, don’t forget Teddy or Olivia.” She said opening the gait for them to run out and into the front garden barking, Constance bid them goodbye calling into the kitchen to Milla and Oscar in unison replying, “Bye, Bye grandma! Love you very much” Then Constance followed the dogs and Leah watched as she walked down the road and closed the front door after waving to Constance as she got in her dark olive green e-type Jaguar and drove away.
