He attacks again.

I understand it.

He stops moving for half a second.

“You tried to erase me,” I say.

“And I guess my body said no.”

He moves again.

And I change it.

Everything breaks.

He stands still.

I walk forward.

“You lose,” I say simply.

Then I punch him.

One hit.

He cracks.

Not like flesh.

Then he disappears.

Not death.

Not explosion.

Just deletion.

I stand there.

Breathing.

And I laugh.

Quiet at first.

Then louder.

“So that’s it,” I say.

“I don’t die when I’m supposed to.”

I turn.

The glass corridor is still here.

Mei is still inside.

Still frozen.

I walk.

Deeper.

No more resistance now.

Everything feels quieter.

Until I reach the center.

It is not a room.

Not a building.

Not a machine.

It is a floating object.

Like a shard.

Like broken glass.

Too wrong.

It floats in the air.

Black light leaking from inside it.

Like the world’s darkest thought made physical.

I stop.
