這是一本以中國明朝明英宗時期為背景的幽默武俠小說。它是古龍《圓月彎刀》的搞笑版。寧盼，一個碌碌無為的男人，三十幾歲還一事無成，在接近三十五歲生日的五個月內，他連續輸給五個武林中游份子。及後，父親逝世，留下了一本殘缺劍譜給他。父親的大弟子尚英文嚴格督促他練那本残缺劍譜的招式，但是練了很久都練不會，之後他和武術界的中游份子戇居拳派掌門人的曾孫安奪奪比武，遇上了安靜靜，於是人生便改寫了。
