I stood in the middle of the garden, gazing at the birds flying in the distance. The sun shone in golden streaks plight, each thread flooding the periwinkle sky.
The weather looked a bit too perfect, and I felt a strange kind of anticipation, as if something exciting was about to happen.
I smiled softly and drifted forward, glad to have some quiet moments of peace.
I had come here after school for a rest, and now, the simple idea had turned into a blessing
As I reached the end of the garden, I noticed a wall of vines hanging from a tall tree, that looked to ancient to be part of this garden. Each vine seemed to curl around the other, and my curiosity tugged at my hands until I reached forward and pushed the wall aside and walked to the other side.
I gasped when I looked around. It was a forest that I thought was strangely ancient. It looked magnificent yet haunting at the same time.
I walked forward slowly, observing the flowers dancing elegantly around me. The trees whispered secrets to each other, and each one leaned forward as if they were observing me. The air smelled of damp mud and forgotten secrets, the mud on the ground feeling fragile beneath my feet.
When I reached the end, though, I figured that I was standing on the edge of a cliff. But when I gazed below, a strange surprise welcomed me. The ground I was standing on seemed as if it were flying, and the sight beneath me was remarkable. There were strange creatures walking below(actually, gliding would be a better word, because they were walking several feet above the ground).
It was an entirely different world.
I could sense the magic in the air, from the fragile mushrooms floating like the people, to the beautiful scent in the air I could smell even form where I was standing.
The skin of the people seemed to have a purplish tint, and they looked different even at the slightest glance
Everything else was rooted firmly to the ground, but each thing still looked magical on its own unique way.
I didn't see a staircase or any method of descent. But I knew that was how it was supposed to be. I was from a different world. They were different.
I didn't belong there—just like these people didn't belong to our world.
I smiled serenely, taking a last look at the majestic world, and then I walked back.
The door of vines was gone the next day.
