《易水傳4：飛燕嘯長空》為《易水傳》系列小說續篇，延續天衡司暗面組織「易水台」的命帳、黑箋與暗刃規矩，卻改以一名江湖女俠的視角，去看這座沉於水下的暗衡之地。

燕凌霄，江湖人稱「飛燕」。她黑笠長刀，來去由風，不入宗門，不歸天衡，也不屬易水。她出刀只憑心中一線俠義，見人將死，便先救；見路將斷，便先走。

一場雨夜追殺中，燕凌霄救下一名被易水台追索之人，卻因此交鋒易水十判之一——「沉淵」。

沉淵曾是明衡之人，後沉入暗衡，成為「沉箋者」。他見過明法如何被截斷，也見過活人如何利用喊冤遮罪。對他而言，黑箋不是殺意，而是明路已絕後，最後不得不落下的裁斷。

可燕凌霄不信人命能這樣輕易沉水。

本篇不是女俠加入易水台的故事，也不是黑箋壓倒江湖俠義的故事。它寫的是一名仍願先救人的飛燕，撞上一個曾經也想救人、最後卻親手沉箋的人。

她會看見易水台的冷，也會看見黑箋存在的理由；但看完之後，她仍要轉身離開。

因為她是飛燕。

她曾掠過易水深處，仍要飛向萬里長空。
