During dinner , I got guests at my home. We were all dinning together and we started a random conversation.
Everything was going normal.
Suddenly our topic went to childbirth.
We were all talking about a video that went viral . In that , a grandma was telling her granddaughter in law to stop screaming during childbirth.
I don't know much of its context ..
That topic suddenly made the surrounding awkward. I looked at their faces as all men went silent but they had a weird smile when they looked in each other's eyes 👀.
I continued staring at everyone and tried to decipher the meaning of this awkwardness .
I noticed the women's eyes looking all around as they are ashamed or uncomfortable about something.
Then suddenly, the surrounding became cheerful , like that awkwardness was never there.
The conversation started as
Aunt 1 : I don't know why this new generation needs to go to hospital to give birth. We also gave birth to children. We never went to hospital or needed a doctor for that .
Isn't midwife enough ?
Aunt 2 : yeah , sister . I also think same. I don't know why this new generation need to scream in front of others while giving birth. I could never do that .
They both got the approval . I don't know whom were they trying to impress . But the women were looking for approval of someone so they hid their own pain and tried to downplayed others pain also. The men , stayed uninterested, with a weird smile in their eyes as they don't even have a slight interest to know this or something like they felt superior in some sense .
The dinner ended like this. The talk continued about dressing sense , morality , etc ......
