Chapter 3: A Beautiful Twist
One day, Ishan received a call from his friend Izmail. Izmail asked him to come along to buy groceries for his sister’s upcoming wedding. Without hesitation, Ishan agreed and joined him.
When they arrived at the grocery store, Ishan was surprised to see Lilly working there. She was busy arranging items and helping customers. The moment Ishan saw her, a smile appeared on his face. He felt happy seeing her again .
Wanting to talk to her, Ishan walked over and tried to start a conversation. However, Lilly politely avoided it and continued focusing on her work. Understanding that she was busy, Ishan didn't insist. After finishing their shopping and paying the bill, he and Izmail left for home.
The entire evening, Ishan couldn't stop thinking about Lilly. He was happy that he had finally found out where she worked.
A few days later, it was time for Izmail's sister's wedding. Ishan attended the celebration, expecting a joyful event. But what he didn't expect was another surprise.
Lilly was there too.
The reason was simple. Lilly's cousin was the bride's makeup artist and had invited Lilly to help with the wedding preparations.
When Ishan saw Lilly again, he couldn't hide his excitement. This time, he gathered the courage to speak with her. To his surprise, Lilly didn't avoid him. Instead, she started talking to him warmly.
As they spent time together, their conversation became more comfortable. At one point, Ishan asked,
"Why didn't you continue your studies after school?"
For a moment, Lilly became quiet. Then she slowly explained everything about her life. She told him about the financial difficulties her family faced and how she had sacrificed her own education to support her younger sister's future.
Hearing her story, Ishan felt deeply moved. He admired her strength and selflessness. Thinking about everything she had gone through made his heart heavy.
At that moment, he made a silent promise to himself.
I should never lose someone like Lilly.
As the wedding came to an end, Lilly prepared to leave. Before going, she walked up to Ishan and said,
"Okay... I'll leave now. See you."
Not wanting the moment to end, Ishan quickly asked,
"Can I have your phone number?"
Lilly laughed softly and shook her head.
"No... that's not possible."
Feeling slightly embarrassed, Ishan smiled and asked,
"Then... can we at least be friends?"
Lilly looked at him for a moment and smiled.
"Okay."
With that simple answer, she walked away.
And for the first time, Ishan felt that this was not the end of their story...
