《王室幽魂》為《銜尾蛇之環》世界觀旗下分支作品之一，原著除此之外亦有其他數個分支作品。


《王室幽魂》大致上是一部立基礎於歷史的一系列擬人化創作。
「幽魂」可以簡單解釋為包含但不限於國家或政黨或宗教等物的具象化形象，只是本作給了它們一個正當的存在背景。

具體來說不算是國家擬人。也當然並不是CH。

他們擁有與人類相仿但存在些微異常的外貌和身體構造，與其代表的國家或政黨或宗教乃至於軍隊等物同壽，自體復原能力極強且快，無法在物理層面上被殺死，也擁有復活的能力。

他們的存在並不為人所知，作為政府機密被嚴密隱藏，他們不被當作活人看待，基本上對現實沒有影響力，他們通常被視為不存在。
