斯普洛林的邊緣區沒有暖氣，沒有選票，路燈時常斷電，垃圾桶要付錢租。鼠王十六歲，揹着五十年還不完的債住在一艘黑市貨船裏；小妖精十七歲，帳篷背在身上，姥姥留下來的貝斯從不離手。她們因爲一條Firestarter樂隊的項鍊停止了打架，然後開始一起喝酒。
與此同時，城市裏開始循環播放一首叫『勿忘我』的歌。沒有人知道它從哪裏來，只知道它很好聽，聽了還想聽，越聽越覺得頻率清晰......
這是一個關於邊緣區、過載鼓機、盜取主義音樂和星際入侵的故事。它的結構像一張大拍電子樂的專輯，七個章節對應七首曲目。故事裏有Big beat、Primus式怪誕貝斯、Rave文化、TR-909鼓機，也有新自由主義城市、媒體管控和一個追求最大公約數的外星文明。
以及兩個聽力損傷的邊緣區女孩，和一個她們從垃圾桶裏撿來的座標。
