John woke up early in the morning. He went to Arya's room, gently shaking her and saying, "Arya, wake up! Today you have to go to church, right?"
Arya murmured sleepily, "Two minutes, Johnu!"
He replied, "It's been ten minutes. Come on, wake up."
John pulled the bedsheet away. Arya woke up, rubbing her eyes and yawning heavily, pouting as she said, "You are a bad boy!"
She went to the bathroom and took a shower. After finishing, Arya realized she had forgotten something: her towel. She slightly opened the bathroom door, hiding behind it, and called out, "Johnuuuuu!"
John was in the kitchen cutting veggies for a sprout salad. He asked, "Dear, what happened?"
Arya replied, "I forgot my towel. Can you give it to me?"
John brought her the towel and handed it through the crack in the door, saying, "Here, take it!"

Arya took it and thanked him. After wrapping herself in the towel, she stepped out and quickly threw on her vest and jeans.
John asked her, "Dear, breakfast is done. Are you going to eat right now, or after church?"
Arya replied, "After church. Go and take a shower."
John went to take a shower and dressed in a t-shirt and formal trousers, instinctively tucking his shirt in with neat, military precision. When he came out, Arya asked, "Can you call Mumma?"
John dialed her number and handed the phone to Arya.

Anvi answered and smiled, "Good morning, Arya! Hey, why are you just in your vest?"
Arya replied, "Good morning, Mumma. I don't know what to wear. Tell me, what should I wear? My shirt, a t-shirt, or a skirt?"
Anvi replied, "Wear that white t-shirt."
Arya nodded, grabbed her white t-shirt, and pulled it on over her vest. John looked at the screen and asked, "Anvi, where is the church?"
Arya interrupted him, declaring, "I will tell you. Just follow me."
Anvi smiled at John. "Umm, John. Take care of her. I will call you later."
He ended the call and asked Arya, "Can we go?"

Arya nodded her head, and they both set off for church. Arya guided him through the route, passing through narrow gullies and winding lanes, reaching the church by 8:50 am. Mass was scheduled for 9:00 am.
John pointed to a spot and told Arya, "Sit on the bench inside."
Arya looked up at him, surprised. "You are not coming?"
He took a heavy breath and replied softly, "No, dear. I'm going to sit outside. You go and pray for Mumma."
Arya replied, "Ok," and went inside the church. John stood outside, positioned directly in front of a large wooden cross near the gate. The mass began—nothing new for Arya, except for the noticeable absence of Anvi.

When the mass ended, Arya ran towards John, hugging him tightly. "Why didn't you come inside? Today, the big cap father came!"
John got down on his knees and asked gently, "Big cap father? You mean the Bishop?"
Arya nodded enthusiastically. "Yes! Why didn't you come?"
Suddenly, someone patted John on the shoulder from behind. He turned around—it was the Bishop himself. The older man looked at him with kind eyes and said, "Son, I was watching you. You were continuously standing out here in front of the cross. What happened?"

John turned back to Arya and asked, "Arya, can you go sit back inside the church for a few minutes? I want to talk about something personal with him."
Arya nodded her head and went back inside.
John turned to the man and said, "Father, I want to make a confession to you."
The Bishop smiled warmly and replied, "To me? What grave sin could you have committed? Come, let's sit in the priest's bungalow."
They both went inside the quiet bungalow. Once the door was closed, John looked down and confessed, "I killed a woman."
The Bishop's smile vanished. Shocked, he asked, "What! Why did you kill her?"
John finally began to explain.

Qasim's chance of survival

Qasim was working deep undercover as Anwar's trusted aide. One day, around 9:00 am, Qasim—or rather, Virat—was speaking through a highly concealed earpiece to his commander.
"Step 2: Betrayal done. What to do now, Commander?"
The Commander's voice crackled back, "Wait for the right time, understand his key assets, and eliminate them."
Virat replied, "Ok. Jai Hind!" and cut the comms.
Suddenly, he heard a gasp. He spun around and saw Anwar's wife, Ulasana, standing right behind him. She had heard everything.
He rushed towards her, raising his hands pacifyingly. "Listen to me!"
She backed away, her eyes wide with rage and fear. "You bloody Indian. You came to destroy us. Today, you are finished."
She spun around and sprinted towards the main gate to alert the guards. Left with zero margin for error, Virat drew his combat knife and threw it flawlessly. It struck her leg, bringing her crashing to the ground.
He rushed over, pulled the blade free, and clamped a hand over her mouth. "Don't tell this to your husband," he warned urgently. "He is a criminal."
She groaned in agonizing pain but glared up at him with pure hatred. "I will."
Left with absolutely no other choice to protect his mission and his country, Qasim slashed her throat.
