香江學思：觀香港高校之風骨 / Thoughts on Higher Education in Hong Kong
一座城市的眼界，藏於一城學府之中。香港十所公開資助及知名專上院校，各安一隅，各守本心，拼湊出這座城市完整的教育版圖。從頂尖研究型大學，到專注博雅育人、實務育才的院校，無一追隨同樣的道路，而身為理大校友，我更能看清每所學府獨特的教育堅持。
A city’s vision is embodied by its universities. Hong Kong’s ten higher education institutions occupy different corners of the city with distinct educational philosophies, forming a complete picture of local education. From top research universities to liberal arts and practice-oriented institutes, none follow identical paths. As a PolyU alumnus, I can better perceive their unique perseverance.
八大名校各有稜角：港大立足薄扶林半山，承英式學風，深耕頂尖理論研究；中大靜居吐露港，堅守華夏文脈，以書院制涵養人文心性；科大臨海而立，年輕銳進，專注前沿科技突破；城大與浸大立足市區，平衡科研與應用，兼容藝術、傳媒多元發展；嶺大堅持博雅教育，守護獨立思辨的淨土；教大專注師道傳承，深耕教育本源。
The eight UGC-funded universities feature distinctive traits. HKU follows British academia focusing on theoretical research; CUHK preserves Chinese culture via its college system; HKUST leads cutting-edge technological research; CityU and BU balance research and application with strengths in arts and communication; LU sticks to liberal arts education; EdU dedicates itself to teacher training.
而我的母校香港理工大學，坐擁紅磡海岸紅色磚樓，緊鄰維港市井，是八大之中最接地氣的存在。拋棄空泛的理論追尋，始終知行合一，以工程、設計、醫療應用學科立身，把學術融入城市建設與民生所需，藏著香港最珍貴的務實篤行精神。

My alma mater Hong Kong Polytechnic University stands by Hung Hom Harbour with iconic red-brick buildings. As the most city-connected university among the eight, it abandons hollow theoretical research and integrates knowledge with real-life needs, representing Hong Kong’s pragmatic spirit.
除此之外，香港恒生大學專注商務與博雅育人，培育貼合本地職場的實務人才；香港珠海學院深耕文史與傳承，延續華文教育根脈，彌補了本地人文普及教育的缺口。
Besides the eight universities, Hang Seng University of Hong Kong focuses on business and whole-person education catering to local industries; Hong Kong Chu Hai College of Higher Education devotes itself to Chinese history and literature, complementing local humanities education.
十所學府，百種堅持，從不千篇一律。有仰望星空的科研探索，有溫故知新的人文傳承，有扎根市井的實務育才。這正是香港教育最可貴之處：兼容並蓄，各展所長，不盲目趨同，容納每一種教育初心。
These ten institutions hold diverse missions without blind conformity. Some pursue advanced research, some inherit cultural roots, and some serve urban development. The essence of Hong Kong education lies in inclusiveness — respecting every original aspiration instead of seeking uniform development.
