The wind blew against the trees, rattling the leaves and echoing whispers. "There must be something that we can do..." A ghostly figure, seemingly floating, asked himself. "Yes...there is not much time left for them. They will perish like a wilted flower!" Another gray, misty figure floated next to him. A shimmering blue hole in the ground that seemed like a pond, had little images of different people. "Who should we choose...? Young, and brave, or old and wise?" The other figure whispered. Without saying a word, the misty figure put her thin finger to her mouth and whispered something into the water, which began to ripple fiercely. The other ghosts stared at her with bewilderment. Then she murmured, "Show me the one who is young and brave." The water continued to ripple, then it halted to a stop and showed a clear image of a young boy chopping wood, wiping sweat off of his head with his arm. Suddenly, the boy seemingly turned his head and stared straight at them, with piercing icy blue eyes. One figure stepped up and clouded the pool, which closed up and was sucked back into the ground. The misty figure stared out into the distance. "It is time. Bring the boy. He is the one who will save us all." She spoke. The trees eerily swayed after she spoke, and she turned to stare at the other ghosts. "How can we be sure? What if he isn't....?" One figure spoke up. The misty figure narrowed her hollow eyes. "He is. I doubt you can prove me wrong. I will follow him now. I'm sure he will recognize his duties." She said, calmly. The other ghosts seemed to acknowledge her leadership and agreed. She then turned around and vanished in a cloud of light blue mist.
