When the fleet of hundreds of ships containing billions of people in each, arrived in the Orgon star system, the main ship A.I. had detected a planet much like Earth, "Planet detected. Awaking." I had stepped out of my sleep pod as did the entirety of the human race, and I was very disoriented. The ships captain had gotten into the comms that were on every ship, "Everyone, ATLAS has found another planet, and we got confirmation that ATLAS has not messed up this time." The fleet of 653 ships and 12 billion humans cheered. We had finally found a new planet. "But, we need a name." The comms got overloaded with ideas none comprehendible because of all the chatter. I had an idea and yelled as loud as I could, "Veridian!" Everyone stopped as if considering it. Then, "Thank, you John. This new planet will be named Veridian." When we had landed, we stepped out on this rocky, black mesa. Then we saw something in the distance as more and more ships landed, more and more of these things came running towards us. Then everything went to hell. They started slaughtering us. We tried to fight back, but they just kept coming eventually people had started dying, and around five hundred thousand of them had. We eventually won, but lost six billion, 473 million, 320 thousand, 543 of us, according to ATLAS. More than half of us had died. We then all made a pact. "No polluting Veridian. And no plastics." Simple right? Wrong. We had to start building new energy sources almost immediately. We came up with the idea to turn walking into energy, this was attempted long ago in japan but it didn't work. But they didn't have ultra conductors. We had made them within a few days, and luckily the ships had enough food for those days. We also had the meat from the newly and aptly named, Venator Hominum. We survived until we had a small colony and we started working on cities, and much more came after that. We had eventually covered one fourth of the continent that we had landed on and where still expanding.
