Chapter 2: The Girl Inside the Darkness

Riyan couldn’t stop staring at the chair.

There was something wrong with it.

Not visible.

Not obvious.

But he felt it.

Like the chair was staring back.

“You keep looking at it,” Aanya said softly.

Riyan quickly looked away. “It just feels… strange.”

Aanya smiled faintly.

“Most people say that.”

Thunder shook the house again.

The lights flickered above them.

Riyan shifted nervously. “Do you actually live here?”

For a moment—

Aanya didn’t answer.

Then slowly:

“I stay here.”

Something about those words made Riyan uncomfortable.

He looked around the room carefully.

Dust covered everything.

Broken walls.

Old furniture.

Except the chair.

It looked untouched.

Almost new.

“Who made it?” he asked.

Aanya’s empty eyes drifted toward the chair.

“A man who wanted to see beyond the future.”

Riyan frowned. “What does that even mean?”

Silence.

Then—

Aanya stepped closer to the chair gently.

Like she was approaching something alive.

“He believed people suffer because they fear what comes next,” she whispered.

Her fingers brushed the wood softly.

“So he created something that could show them.”

The room grew colder.

Riyan rubbed his arms uneasily.

“And it works?”

Aanya looked at him.

“Yes.”

The way she answered made his chest tighten.

He laughed nervously. “You actually believe that?”

Aanya didn’t laugh back.

“I don’t believe.”

Her smile faded slowly.

“I know.”

Silence swallowed the room.

Then suddenly—

Riyan heard something.

A whisper.

Faint.

Broken.

“…don’t…”

He froze.

“What was that?”

Aanya’s eyes narrowed slightly.

“What was what?”

Riyan looked around.

His heartbeat quickened.

“I heard someone.”

The whisper came again.

Weak.

Desperate.

“…leave…”

This time—

It came from the chair.

Riyan stepped back instantly.

“Did you hear that?!”

Aanya remained still.

Too still.

Then slowly—

She smiled.

“It speaks differently to everyone.”

Riyan’s stomach dropped.

“No… someone’s inside there…”

For the first time—

Something flickered in Aanya’s expression.

Fear.

Gone in a second.

“You should ignore it,” she whispered quickly.

But the whisper returned.

Louder now.

“RIYAN…”

His blood ran cold.

“How does it know my name?!”

The room darkened suddenly.

The chair creaked softly.

And then—

Riyan saw it.

Not with his eyes.

With his mind.

A girl trapped in endless darkness.

Crying.

Reaching toward him.

And behind her—

A shadow watching silently.

Riyan gasped and stumbled backward.

The vision disappeared instantly.

“What… what was that?!”

Aanya walked toward him quickly.

Too quickly.

“You saw nothing.”

Her voice sounded wrong.

Almost desperate.

Riyan stared at her in horror.

“No… there’s someone trapped in there…”

Aanya grabbed his wrist tightly.

“Listen to me carefully.”

Her empty eyes locked onto his.

“You need to leave this house.”

Riyan froze.

“What?”

For the first time—

Aanya’s smile disappeared completely.

And underneath the emptiness—

Something human struggled to escape.

“If it starts showing you visions…”

Her voice trembled slightly.

“It means it noticed you.”

The lights flickered violently.

The chair creaked again.

Louder this time.

And a deep voice echoed softly through the room:

“He is ready.”

Aanya’s grip tightened in panic.

“RUN!”

Suddenly—

The house door slammed shut by itself.

Darkness spread across the walls like living smoke.

And the chair slowly turned toward Riyan.

By itself.
