“So… we live together?”

Arjun nodded.

“Yes.”

She hesitated.

“And… we were happy?”

That question lingered.

Arjun’s grip on the steering wheel tightened slightly.

But it wasn’t the truth either.

The House

The Mehra mansion stood tall and elegant, glowing under the soft lights.

As Meera stepped inside, she looked around slowly.

“This is… my house?”

“Our house,” Arjun corrected gently.

But she didn’t respond.

Her fingers brushed against the furniture, the walls… as if trying to feel something familiar.

Nothing came.

Only emptiness.

The Bedroom

Meera stopped at the doorway.

“This is… our room?”

“Yes.”

She walked in slowly.

Her eyes landed on the large bed.

She immediately turned to him.

“I can’t stay here.”

Arjun blinked.

“What?”

“I don’t know you,” she said honestly. “I can’t just… share a room with a stranger.”

Those words were fair.

But they still hurt.

Arjun nodded after a pause.

“…I understand.”

He picked up a pillow and blanket.

“I’ll sleep in the guest room.”

Meera watched him walk away.

For a moment… she felt something strange.
