Outside, dawn light spread weakly across the city.

People moved normally below.

Cars. Voices. Routine.

But Raghav noticed something disturbing now.

Everyone looked… tired.

Emotionally distant.

Like tiny parts of them had quietly gone missing overnight.

Across the room, Subject 07 stood near the window.

Watching the streets silently.

“You keep looking at people like you know something,” Raghav muttered.

Subject 07 didn’t turn around.

“I know what comes next.”

Raghav’s stomach tightened.

“What?”

A long pause.

Then—

“The empty room.”

Miles away, Dr. Meera finally unlocked the final encrypted archive.

The folder contained only one video file.

Meera pressed play immediately.

A scientist appeared onscreen.

Older than the others.

Calmer.

Almost proud.

The scientist smiled faintly.

And somehow—

Meera frowned.

Highlighted dark regions spreading gradually over time.

“Detached impulses remain active there.”

“Secondary identities evolve there.”

Meera felt cold.

The project wasn’t just splitting personalities.

Back at the motel—

Raghav suddenly froze mid-step.

A strange pressure filled his head.

Raghav grabbed the table.

The silence deepened.

The motel room faded slightly around the edges.

he heard footsteps.

Approaching.

Because the voice came from somewhere else.

Raghav’s blood turned cold.

The voice sounded like him.

Exactly like him.

But calmer.

Colder.

“No…” Raghav whispered.

The voice laughed softly.

Not cruelly.

Almost patiently.

“You keep thinking I arrived because of the signal.”

A pause.

Then—

“But I was always here.”

Suddenly—

the motel room snapped back into focus.

The silence vanished.

Raghav staggered backward violently.

Sweat covered his face.

Subject 07 stepped forward immediately.

“You heard it?”

Raghav looked up slowly.

Terrified.

“It sounded like me.”

Subject 07 closed his eyes briefly.

Like he already knew.

“Then the separation has started.”

⚠️ The Real Purpose

Meera replayed the Phase 4 recording again.

This time focusing on the scientist’s final statement.

“Human identity is inefficient.”

“Emotion creates hesitation.”

“But separated consciousness can specialize.”

Another scientist offscreen asked quietly:

“And what happens to the original personality?”

The older scientist answered without emotion.

“It becomes unnecessary.”

The screen went black.

Meera sat frozen.

Now she understood.

Project Ding Dong wasn’t trying to control people temporarily.

It was trying to replace unstable emotional identity entirely.

Not mind control.

Mind succession.

🌑 The Growing Silence

Night fell again over the city.

And with every passing hour—

more people experienced:

unfamiliar thoughts

Hospitals filled with patients claiming:

But the most disturbing cases were the calm ones.

People who smiled softly and said:

Back inside the motel—

Raghav sat awake in darkness.

Trying not to think.

Then softly—

from somewhere deep inside him—

the voice returned.

“You’re afraid because you think I’ll take control.”

A pause.

Then the whisper became almost gentle.

“But I’m only becoming what you stopped allowing yourself to be.”

Raghav shut his eyes tightly.

But the silence inside his mind only deepened.

And somewhere within that silence—

a door slowly began to open.
