從前，人們以為這座森林鬧鬼，或是進行過某種惡靈的召喚儀式；但隨著科技演進，各種超自然現象有了新層面的解讀，比如軍方不可告人的生化實驗，外星人侵入，亦或是探靈主播的裝神弄鬼。然而這些事情唯一的共通點，便是沒有人在意，畢竟光是大城市一整年下來，就存在多少毫無下文的失蹤案件，又有誰會在乎森林裡走丟了幾個人？人們僅剩的警語便是：遠離森林。


然而被人類忽視的無數年來，情況已不再是遠離森林就能解決問題，因為這些森林正在主動靠近人類社會。從受害者們的觀察日記，一點一滴揭露出陰暗森林裡的恐怖存在，活下來的人，未必是幸運。
