I was only a child when it happened.
I remember mama and papa told me to go down to the basement and cover my ears, and that is what i did.
I never saw them again after that.
I couldn’t hear much of anything, everything was muffled.
Suddenly the house exploded and I was thrown up in the air and came crashing down in a flash, I was in pain.
I couldn’t speak, and I couldn’t hear, I remember people, lots of different people running over to me and picking me up in their arms.

I remember a woman, she took care of me her name I can’t quite remember but she was like a mother to me.
She had brown hair that had very subtle waves in it.
Her eyes were green, like fresh grass in the spring.
Her hands were soft, she would pick me up and rock me in her arms.
It is a shame that I can’t remember her name, she was very important to me.
I remember one day I was eating lunch and someone knocked at the door the nice lady got up and opened the door and there was a scary woman outside the nice lady picked me up and handed me over to her, that was the last time I ever saw her.
The scary lady told me her name was Mrs. Rylen she told me that I was going to a nice family that wanted to take care of me.
She said that they had other kids who were a little older than me.
Soon we arrived at a house, she took me out of the car and walked me over to the door, at the door were 3 kids and they all looked at me in disgust, then a girl came over and said that she was my sister, Emily. Mrs. Rylen left me at the house and said she’d see me next month.
A man and a woman walked over they told me that I could call them mom and dad, they called the 3 boys over and told me that they were going to be in school with me, the oldest one’s name was Joseph, the other two were twins their names were Liam and Caleb they were 2 years older than me. The girl Emily came over she said that she was 12 years old and that she would always take care of me, no matter what. She picked me up and took me upstairs into a room, she said that it was ours and that we would be sharing a room.
