林夏接下那份任務前，只想要一種很普通的生活。


普通到有點可笑。


能安穩睡一覺。

能不被系統和帳戶餘額追著走。

能在鹿聆需要他的時候，不只是嘴硬，而是真的護得住她。


他不是活不下去。


他只是受夠了那種勉強活著的日子。


所以他去了。


後來，錢到了。


人死了。


至少所有人都是這麼認為的。


一年後，林夏醒來。


城市還在，世界卻已經爛了一半。


雨水帶著污染，食物不再安全，封鎖線把街區切成一塊塊活人區。廣播裡仍在要求所有人保持秩序，可牆外已經沒人清理屍體。


有些人還會說話。


只是已經不能再算人。


林夏想回去找鹿聆。


可他發現，自己已經被社會判定死亡，被舊世界抹除，也被新世界留下。


他原本只是想過上普通生活。


但末日先一步告訴他——


普通人，已經活不下去了。
