這部書名的來由是我深愛的一個愛打籃球的女孩＂彤＂，正在被癌末折磨，當初因為她希望我寫一部籃球小說她想客串當經理而寫的，之前讓她看得又哭又笑的，希望上天能奇蹟般地讓她扭轉命運．如果不行，那就讓她在小說裡繼續留在這個世界。

受眾是喜歡籃球或是校園歡樂氛圍帶一點微幫派元素的人，主要是寫一個人見人怕的黑幫之子怎麼加入熱血的籃球隊去追逐改變人生機會的故事．中後期對於籃球動作和戰術的描寫會越來越複雜，遠超一般小說的程度，但這也是因此能深刻描繪出不同球員特色的原因。
