Please note that not everything is this novel is completely true nor is it completely fantastical, but it all is fictional.
Specific notes: Therians do not necessarily see their shifts or other people's animal limbs, and they cannot manipulate their surroundings using these features. This was a purely fantastical alteration for the sake of "telling a terrible story" that shouldn't "deminish [our] glory." (To reference The Pirates of Penzance)
The reason I am writing this is to hopefully open people's eyes to a group of people that is often hurt (intentionally or not) by others' remarks or actions, and is meant to bring care and realization to people who hope for love, understanding, and acceptance.
The antagonizing events and parties are also fiction, but dystopian in nature. This was intentional to bring, not only intensity to the story, but realization to certain dangers that may eventually take form if society is not careful to avoid it.
The private and sanctioned utopia Oura is meant to bring is one I hope to realize in the next decade or so, from details as prominent as the mascot and unique as the dorms.
Hang in there, pawls. Headmistress Lenore wants to meet you all too ♡
(Edit: I used Bellua as a placeholder name for a while, but have settled on Oura High School.)
