Uniforms should be required regardless of school or job.
At school or any study institution: Uniform is an essential must that all schools and study systems should adapt. It's for the ease of students rather the system. Children who are financially troubled will get an advantage of not worrying what to wear to not look "poor" and bullies won't have the chance to make mockery of another child's clothing. There will be no slandering of one for the way he/she decides to dress. It makes sure that the students pay more attention to their education rather vanity.
At jobs or any workplace: Uniform is a sign of responsibility, no fancy dresses to "distract" or "be shameful". People should go to work not to look pretty but for efficiency. Those who wear the required uniform would be safe from unnecessary complaining about the way one looks or dresses.
For some bastards: People still find a way to complain about you, so, fuck 'em and dress how you want. People will talk and watch, so give them a reason to, by being yourself. In uniforms, people would body-shame you because they got nothing better to do with their own little lives. And yes, you would still be harassed in your work Uniform, because people don't change their thoughts just because we dress differently. So better to have pepperspray for efficiency! Or if you prefer physical, a kick in the area where it hurts, should shut them up.
