À 20 ans, Esmée quitte tout pour s’installer dans une nouvelle ville avec sa mère.  Loin du lourd secret qui hante leur passé.
Mais ce qu’Esmée ignore, c’est que cette ville n’a rien d’ordinaire. Les habitants semblent en savoir plus qu’ils ne le devraient, les regards s’attardent trop longtemps, et certains événements défient toute logique.
Sans le savoir, Esmée met le pied dans un lieu où les secrets ne restent jamais cachés bien longtemps… et où le sien pourrait réveiller quelque chose qui l’attend depuis longtemps.
