英仙座在200年前發生毀滅性災難，所有傳送門突然失效，艦隊不能再往返銀河系每個角落，使英仙座與銀河系斷開了鏈接。

曾經是銀河系繁榮的文明星系之一瞬間化為泡影，所有殖民地陷入孤立無援的狀態。

絕望，恐懼和混亂蔓延了整個英仙座，引發了動蕩時代。

如今距離星門崩潰已過去整整兩個世紀了，新的秩序降臨了，貿易再次開啟了，文明重新安定，但裂痕仍在暗處蔓延——被孤立的星系、失落的技術和無法癒合的恐懼，以及因而發展出的動蕩局勢。
